Best B-Models of Technic Sets?

8053's B model is pretty damn cool.

Agreed, it is a lot of fun. I really enjoyed 8053, I think one of the best sets I've bought. First mobile crane I had and enjoyed building it, and the B-Model was a good build too, I think has a lot of potential in it to be taken further if one decided they wanted to. I messed around with it when I had it built, but ultimately ended up in the parts bin like every other set

8868's B-model had Pneumatic auto-valving, which always amazed me as a kid.

Just finished 8049's B model, I actually prefer it to the A model by a large margin. Clever use of parts, and good use of pneumatics.

I agree! Also 42025 B-Model seems to be nice!

+1. Inspired by this thread I dug that set out of a cupboard and built the B model with my kids. The 4 year old loves it and has taken it to bed with him. Thanks to those who suggested this one

So far, 9398 "Paris Dakar" truck (as i call it)... but still too much weight in the front. Must spend a few hours trying to "remodel" it

8431 mobile crane has one of the best models - the original is already good but you can enhance it very easy e.g. by making the tipper dumpable via pneumatic (this MOD just needs a fistful of standard bricks, beams and one pneumatic valve, one t-piece and one piston and about 45 cm pneumatic hose - here we go:

a really great B-Model with a perfect folding crane... very sturdy, very intersting build, very playable - lot of functions...

Together with the wonderful mail model (the mobile crane) and of the best medium sets ever... very recommended

When you combine the 42026 black champion racer and 42027 desert racer, the pullback truck is cool if that is a b model.

My first ever technic set after coming out of my lego dark age was 8070 supercar and i bought it specifically to build the B model hot rod which I personally think is much better than the A model, I modified it with round headlights though because the square ones just look silly :-P

I just now finished the B model 8880 and, I know I will get a lot of flack for this, but I think it looks MUCH better than the A model......

Of course the functions are no where near as good as the A model but aesthetically I think the B model wins........

completely agree.. the fact, that 8880 offers such a great B-modell makes this set truly outstanding...
