captain gabe Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Hi all, I've been trying to build an HMS providence from pirates of the Caribbean, but i cant get it right. can somebody make your own?. on potc the ship looks pretty cool. Quote
kurigan Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Providence is just Surprise. The same frigate, formerly Rose, now owned by the San Diego Maritime Museum that played HMS Surprise in the film "Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World" served as HMS Porvidence in the last POTC film, "On Stranger Tides". There are already plenty of interpretations of her and similar vessels in the forum. Just check out the ship MOCs Index. Quote
Sebeus I Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Like Kurigan said, look for MOCs of the HMS Surprise, it's the same ship and for that matter quite a popular one . Quote
captain gabe Posted January 21, 2013 Author Posted January 21, 2013 OK, thanks guys! Didn't think of that. Silly me. Quote
Frank Brick Wright Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Possibly the best "build", so to speak, of this model IMO is not on this forums: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/278472 The detail is amazing and, even if it is LDD, I'm sure you'll be inspired anyways. Quote
Grimmbeard Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 (edited) OK, thanks guys! Didn't think of that. Silly me. Yes there's tons of MOCs out there, just look Edited January 21, 2013 by Grimmbeard Quote
captain gabe Posted January 21, 2013 Author Posted January 21, 2013 wow! your right Frank Brick Right! that's a pretty awesome MOC! I googled HMS Surprise and there is a whole lot of awsome surprise mocs! Quote
piratekingrd Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Really the HMS Surprise is played by the Replica of the ship HMS Rose but when the ship was used for Master and Commander: To the Far Side of the World they changed the name of the ship for the movie and then just decided to have the ship keep that name.
