Number: 1711 or 1731 or 3014 (1711 is a polybag and 1731 is a box)

Name: Snow Scooter

Theme: Space

Subtheme: Ice Planet 2002

Year: 1994 (wait...why is it called ice planet 2002?)

Minifigs: 1

Pieces: 18

Price: $2 US (as 1711) unknown (as 1731 or 3014)

Parts

This is a classic "Stuff on a 2xX plate" set. But I also have a copy of 6879 "Blizzard Baron" to review at a later date, and I noticed that most of the parts are interchangable. With as little more research, I found that all of the parts on this set are used in other ice planet sets EXCEPT the white plate 1x1 with clip. It might be best to think of this as a service pack.

I should also mention I love the lack of wheels.

I appreciate the way the colors match the vehicle and the ice planet logo is cool. Printed head is nice as well.

Man it's hard to discuss such a small build. It's stuff on a plate. The use of the wedge plate to make a depression for the cockpit is OK. I couldn't build any better given the parts limitations.

Conclusion

Parts: 9/10 I think this set needs a printed slope for a nosecone and a chainsaw body. This would improve the build and it's use as a service pack. But the parts that are here are very satisfactory. Also, notice how the standard colors look "cold" without making a new color just for a 2 year them.

Minifig: 10/10

Build: 9/10

Playability: 9/10 I'm glad he has tools and a swishable vehicle. he just doesn't have anything to do with the tools. It would be hard to get 10/10 with a set this side.

Price: 9./10

Overall: 92%

I remember when 2002 hit... I was so disappointed by lack of snow.

And I agree, it's DYING for a printed 2x3 slope in front, and I know they had those for bigger sets... but for $2 you can't go wrong...
