Jareth Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Number: 6829 Name: Radon Rover Theme: Space Subtheme: UFO Year: 1997 Minifigs: 1 Pieces: 52 Price: $6.00 (US) Pieces MMM.....light grey and black with red and trans-neon-green as an accent color....also some red. I like that the light grey matches the classic space, and I can imagine the two collections merging very well. The red seems a little out of place, but who cares. The color scheme also helps to highlight the minifig. Speaking of which... People Cool guy huh? However, when I first saw him, I assumed someone had dabbed light blue pait on his face. This is one of those rare circumstances where my photography actually makes it look better. The printing nice, especially leg printing, but it looks more muddled in real life. Also notice the lack of headpiece or back piece.....or weapon. Alltogether this is a very plane minifig compared to other space lines. Build It's nice to see a unique chassis in such a small set. In the end I'd prefer, technic bricks and pins as opposed to 2x2 bricks with pin and 2x4 brick with pins, but it helps keep the parts count low. And her is the complete vehicle! I can't say enough nice things about this. It's sturdy and the antenae on top look great. There's no controls for the minifig, but considering he's a robot he probably just plugs into the controls. MVP (Most valuable piece) Wing 8 x 4 - 2 x 3 & 1/3 Up This set has two printed versions of this piece and one non printed version. It's large, but not <insert that tiresome argument>, and can be used as a wing, a strut or a bunker wall. The only problem is that there's only three. I wouldn't mind having this piece make a comeback. Conclusion Parts: 10/10 I could fuss more about the colors, but everything here is usefull, and the decorative peices come in multiples. Minifig 6/10 3 parts, overly buisy printing, that doesn't look like anything, and a head that looks like someone defaced it with paint. Build: 10/10 I have a hard time complaining about this. Even the wheels are well used. Playability: 8/10 It rolls, and the antenae and windscreen move. There is an extra printed tile that the minifig can search for and place in the 2x2x2 container on the vehicle. Extra tools for the minifig would be appreciated. Price 8.7/10 I don't think this score does it justice. The wings really make it into a large set for $6 Overall 86% If this were in production I'd buy a lot of them for parts.....and then use brickforge to make the minifigs cooler. Quote
DraikNova Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 (edited) Good review. I actually managed to get several of those "wing" pieces at LEGOWorld last year and I must say, they're pretty cool. Edited January 18, 2013 by DraikNova Quote
