Artanis I Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 MSFC Encounter with Mongoose & Caplets MagLev style monorails run across the mega-metropolis clouded in thick gaseous atmospheric conditions. The capital centre's heavily congested skyline is dominated by two towers, representing the rival corporate empires Mongoose and Caplets. A flying saucer drops in to perform an abduction for good measure! More pics are available in the Flickr set. Fits on a 16x16 plate, absolutely no overhang - but man was it hard work to get the rails to fit! Quote
Vindicare Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 That suckers busy! the best part is clearly the UFO. Great way of making it hover. The dice building is a bit odd looking due to the discs sticking out the side, but kudos for using the dice. Neat trains too. Great entry & good luck! Quote
DraikNova Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Very nice use of printed parts. May I ask how you connected the dice? Quote
zane_houston Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 great build! a lot of action going on. are the corporate empire names Romeo and Juliet references? Quote

Just because... And the top part of that tower still isn't doing it for me either. Very nice use of printed parts. May I ask how you connected the dice? Between dice I found the best connection to be a plate + TheOneRing. Thankfully each set with that part comes with 3. great build! a lot of action going on. are the corporate empire names Romeo and Juliet references? What gave you that idea? Yeah, fully intentional. Thanks for the comments, it's a very busy scene but it was fun anyway. I'm sure someone with good MOC skills could make this a lot easier to look at. I might make further changes but I can't be bothered doing all the photography & edits again & again. Quote
soccerkid6 Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Really nice monorail design Very cool towers too, I like the dice usage Quote
Teessider Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 (edited) I love the contrast between the two towers and the use of the dice pieces. Edited January 15, 2013 by Teessider Quote

Nice  I like in particularly the micro monorail Thanks guys. I have so many of those dice I could probably make a Rubik's cube. Hey, that's an idea... See TLG, everyone loves monorails! Si-MOCs Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 I certainly hope this doesn't end up star-crossed.... A lot of really great bits, the maglevel mini monorails and bridges are really nicely done. Quote
Cara Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 I really love this, great detail in such a small space and wonderful parts usage. Quote

Thanks, the build all started with the bridges & rails and the rest grew up around that. I really love this, great detail in such a small space and wonderful parts usage. Thanks, really good to hear.
