mephistopheles Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Hi there! It is depressing Monday with 15 cm snow and some icy rain on top of it so I didn't drove to work today. I was sorting my stuff and noticed that I totally forgot to post my watchtower. This was finished before my Hunters House and can be seen in the Woodward WIP thread. I thought it might deserve a thread on its own. This is/was my last cheese slope build for a good while. The Black Widow Inn, Stables and Watchtower were all built by Lord Mephistopheles the same time and belong to the Army of Woodward (The Black Widow Inn served as a Barracks for a while and officially still belongs to the Army. In times of peace it functions as an Inn again, but will be immediately re functioned as a barracks in times of war). That is why they all look the same. The Hunters House was financed by the Lord, but built by the locals later on, once the region was secured. So much for the story of Woodward now :) Since the weather is bad I had to photograph it indoors and I am not good at that :( On the picture you can see Lord Mephs elite troops as they are leaving the tower. You know some things are happening in Historica. Blood might get spilled soon... Quote
soccerkid6 Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Lovely watchtower The colors and shape fit in perfectly with the rest of Woodward Quote
Kayne Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 I saw that in the WIP of Woodward and really liked it. Good to see it get its own view here. Woodward is really shaping up great! Quote
PenPlays Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 I can't get over how excellent you cheese builds look. Well done, Meph. Quote
de Gothia Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 You can tell right away that you have done this! The cheese slopses in the walls are kind of your signature now! :) I like this a lot! The seond story on the tower is really speaking to me! Love that part! But this great moc really deserves better photos, hope you can take better photos soon. Quote
MikeyB Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 I really like this one two. while not as large as your other buildings, it is very nice. and I agree with de Gothia, while the photos are too bad, I would love to see more photos of it. Quote
mephistopheles Posted January 15, 2013 Author Posted January 15, 2013 Thank you guys. I promise I'll make better photos and then I will update this thread. The thing is that I can make good photos outside only in natural light. I never figured out how to make good photos indoors. Currently the weather here is so crap that I can't make photos outside. Currently the weather here is so crap that I can't make photos outside. outside always seem to be the best unless you have some good studio equipment and know how to use it. I have had the same issue here, although we don't typically see snow, wind, rain, the right time of day are all issues Quote
Wedge09 Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Nice work  I like the architectur you recreat on the basament Quote
Rogue Angel Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 It's great to see people retroactively complete challenges like this! I like the corner of the tower and the windows and frames on the second floor. Nice work! Quote
