Title says all really, it's research to what people thing, oh and sorry for you in the U.S, (it socker there isn't it?)

Anyway, obiously i'd say formula one, because

Formula one drivers have to suffer G forces for up to 2 hours, longer than footballers have to run around.

Formula one drivers had to wear a fire proof suit, and several other layers than make them hot in countries like italy and US.

F1 drivers don't have much drink, and normally it goes warm because of the car tempreture, so it's hardly refreshing.

F1 drivers don't get half time

There is no hooligans (I.E fans) in motorsport, everybody is sivilacied.

F1 drivers don't swear, spit or do anything else that is genrally bad for the sport.

In other words i HATE football, i hate everything about it, motorsport is much, much better, and don't bug me over PM about it, its my oppion.

You absolutely can't compare them. In formula 1 it comes down to the driver's skill, in football it comes down to the skill of all players on the field.

But this topic is just an excuse for letting everyone know how awesome F1 is and how terrible football is in your opinion, isn't it?

Futball. With an "u" to make the difference easier, is one way I'd like to spell soccer. Without a doubt, F1. I dislike American Football, but I don't hate it. Meaning, I'm not a crazy fan, I'll watch it when somebody else has control over the TV X-D . Plus, I prefer Futball(a.k.a. soccer) better.

On this soccer/football issue, football was invented in England and so American Football should be the one called soccer.

On topic, Formula one is dangerous. It takes a hell of alot of skill.

soccer, or futbol... I would have to say soccer from all the conditing!!! |-/ yeah probally soccer

p.s. is formula One like Rugby? or what is it?

Sorry, you don't know what F1 is?! It's one of the biggest motorsport championships in the world with some of the most talented guys in it, go to www.formula1.com to see more. Also see my av

That's why it's so good and it's publicity went through the roof last year with the Schumacher.v. Alonso battle, everyone was talking about it at my school.

F1 is more dangerous as many people die of boredom.

Strangely, that's exactly what I think of soccer/football. 22 men kicking a ball around for 90minutes. Yeah, that's entertainment!

Acutally, F1 is a function key on a computer keyboard...

Shouldn't you guys talk about your studies and homework? No wonder education nowadays is going down the johnny flusher...

I hate formula1, the only half good thing about it is the crashes but after a while even they get boring.

Here in the states, it's more of box-car driving. Not Formula1. Lucky for me, I don't like the box-car races. I don't know why that is lucky, but I'll just say it anyway X-D .

1. Ha, ha, look, it's hobbers the comedy genious(!)

2. You are sooooo boring, people CAN have a life around school work ya know?!

2. Actuly, Calvin and Hobbes that is absolute crap, i mean, if anything, forumla one has more fans than football, espacially from last season, i mean, 2 long detailed points.

1. If you have not been aware, David Beckham has signed an american contract to earn a $1000000 a week! That's more than people who save lives on a daily basis, but Schumacher donated the lagest sum of money of anybody in the world after the tsunami happened, you don't see DB doing that now do you?

2. Another reason is because of the world cup, espacially in britain, everyone gets over hiped and genrally drunk totaly dilluding themselfs that england are crap when it comes to football, but no

"Oh yeah, we could really win the world cup this year!" but england get nocked out of the tonrament quicker than you can say

" i told you so" but in motorsport and F1, we have some proper english talent, Jenson Buton, Lewis Hamilton, Mattt Neal to name afew. Andlook at Andy Prixual, 3 times world champion in one of the hardest motor racing championships in the world! But does he get the hype the british football players get. No. Not even a mention on the news which is absolutly discusting. It's because people are too d cuckoo in the head to apsept that motorsport is a sport, hence the "sport" at the end, people say "well driving a car isn't that hard" that's only one side of the story the racing, there is going to the gyme nearly everyday for 2 hours, the press to deal with, testing new cars, motorsport is a full time job, unlike footballers who sit back on there big megablocks after they have been nocked out the contest and watch the millions roll in. For heaven sake, they have not got a brain between them.

I have a sneaking suspision that hobbes does not like me. It's very hurtful.

I think he was right about the school thing though, I mean you numbered things 1, 2, 2, 1, 1, 2 :-D :-P

Personally I find racing to be really boring...most sports are really boring to be honest. Give me a good story, something with depth and I'll be satisfied :-)

Yeah, now you're making soccer look bad. It's fine that you express your opinion, but be mindful there are soccer fans here.

the press to deal with,

Ok, yeah, like soccer players don't have to deal with that :-| .

You're very hurtful.

ImperialScouts, whose country knocked out England X-D . And keeping in mind he likes Formula1 and respects all other sports.

I feel the need to respond to this. You have a very biased point of view to this. Your 'facts' are actually opinions and most of them aren't true.

Firstly, I'm willing to bet everything I've got on the fact that football has more fans worldwide then F1. Football is the most played sport in the world, and escpecially in South America there are huge numbers of fans.

The World cup...why care about it anyway. England made it to the quarter finals if I'm correct. That means they were among the best 8 in the world. Not too bad in my opinion. Plus, there's loads of talent over there combined with players who are still young but have already become really important players (Terry, Lampard, Gerrard, Rooney, you name it). When was the last time any of the drivers you mentioned got close to winning the F1 championship?

Then you say that you dislike the fact that there's no motorsports on the news. Want to know why not? Because people care about it less then football. Trust me, that's the way the media works.

Football players train daily, just like F1 drivers (although I doubt they go to the gym 2 hours a day). They also deal with the press (which is a bigger pressure for them since they get more attention from them).

Now don't go attacking me, you obviously are convinced motorsports is the best thing in the world. But, if you look at the facts, they clearly say football is more popular. It's okay to have a different opinion, but don't got using your opinions as facts.

Shurruup, if you can't think of anything good to say, don't say it at all.

Calm down! Actuly, if you'd been bothered to check, you would notice that F1 drivers, Lewis Hamilton won the F1 sister series by alot, a very talented (and first black driver in F1) which makes him a very exciting line-up for this year.

I think many of you have put many bulliyish comments across, it's ame old, just because i don't like football you all think i'm freaks. Well i'd like you to know, i am not a mindless clone following the "Beutiful game" (what idiot came up with that anyway) and i have a personality, so stop puting across comments that you think i am stupid (Hobbes, Calvin, Kikuichimonji and starwars4J

You started the bullying by saying you "HATE" football (capital letters). And you're very opinionated. And as Kiku said you're trying to pass your opinion off as fact. Some people make fun of it, so did I (I care neither for football nor Formula 1). And nobody said you're stupid, you just didn't check your posting for errors and that always is a source for jokes.

So, agreed, lets calm down ;-)

Come on man, we aren't being bullyish, we aren't a bunch of Jade Goodys :-D You know, F1 fans aren't usually considered freaks, although it may be a good description, but I have never ever heard of someone calling them freaks.

I thought the theme of your question was which sport is harder, either most difficult skillwise or most dangerous, I was not totally sure. Personally I Think F1 is more dangerous with the risk of major crashes etc athough many more footballers die each year from heart atatcks and swallowing their tongues etc than do F1 drivers. But of course this is because for each F1 driver there are perhaps 50 million amateur footballers. It is pretty impossible to be a amateur F1 driver you know, hence it is a fringe sport and always will be (and hopefully for the planet's sake, carbon monoxide etc).

It seems you have had bad experience with weirdos in your area who consider football a macho sport and F1 for faeries or something, however if you know people like this, it is no problem they are just idiots. However I don't think Starwarsj, Hobbes & Kiki are like these people.

But for me, F1 is still dead boring, Schumacher is a arrogant cheat and bighead (ask Mr D. Hill), and David Beckham and the whole English football team and media hype are head-wrecking irritants. You know, professional football is in general boring too, it's the stuff in the park that is fun!

Wow..... Now this is a thread thats really gone off the rails........

Now i have to say i dont in any way think that the two sports can be compaired, there worlds apart so its kinda of a pointless disscussion.

If you wish to compaire sports then why not try to match them up like:

Whats tougher Rugby or American Football?

Who need to be physically fitter a footballer or a tennis player?

Whats harder F1 or Nascar? etc.

Now then Optimax X i have to say i find your attitude to be really out of line, as others have stated theirs no need to get angry if others dont feel the same as you. Telling anyone to shut up in the manner you did will not bode well for your future on that i promise so please dont do it.

Youve stated that f1 drivers dont get enough exsposure on tv, well thats becasue our national sport is football and thats not going to change anytime soon. Its the most popular sport in this country and the world, now this is a fact and if you dont believe me i suggest you go look it up before attacking.

Oh and for the record Football is Football not soccer, american football should of been called something different as its more like rugby than football.

It is called something different - it's called American Football. But since Americans like to "abbreviate" everything they just call it "football" and needed to find something else for "real" football to not confuse those two. And since AF is their national sport they use soccer for our football... ;-)
