Since Disney bought the Indiana Jones and Star Wars Franchise from George Lucas.

If we're talking about new live-action movies, I don't think Disney will rush into making a new one. I actually think they will let Indy sleep for a while and then reboot the series with a modern flavor. Audiences were pretty disappointed with Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and that really taints the Indiana Jones brand name. They will wait a few years until Crystal Skull is a more distant memory. Meanwhile they will be feeding the flames of fandom with new video games, graphic novels and maybe some novels. These things are not as big a financial risk for the company.

I believe Disney stated that they do not currently have any immediate plans for Lucasfilms licenses aside from Star Wars. As far as them making a new movie? I can only hope not. Something about seeing an older, graying Indy in the last film just took some of the magic away. (Not that the script helped in the magic reduction department) For the love of God, please don't do it again.

Doubt it; with all the stuff Disney has now (Star Wars and hopefully Tron 3) I think they'll funnel most of the money into those projects and the amusement parks. Plus they wrapped it up well with the 4th one so I'm not sure what direction a sequel would go in.

I'm read somewhere that Indiana Jones was not included in the deal with Disney, and is still owned by Paramount.

No they did get the rights as it was categorized under Lucasfilms and distributed by Paramount. Crownie is correct about them having no immediate plans for Indy.

Ah, okay, that's good news. They can take their time to conjure up with a good script/screenplay. :classic:

IJ movies are heavily based on the main character, and Mr Ford - as much as I like him - is not getting any younger. I would rather close the curtains and keep my fond memories of the 80s Indy flicks than feel awkward seeing him trying to be a physical actor in an adventure movie still. It would not feel right and it felt already slightly wrong in Skull - which was 5 years ago.
