efferman Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 Found on Brickshelf and youtube i have not often seen a bridge launching tank made of lego, and mahjigas bridgelauncher was something completely different. so i must say this "panzerschnellbrücke Biber" is a masterpiece. Quote
DLuders Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 Nice find! I always admired Mahjqa's green-and-orange Stilzkin Bridge Launcher (seen in the and composite picture below), but there's always room for another interpretation like Itchy4000's grey bridge launcher. Itchy4000's YouTube video in efferman's post above is the "long version" -- below is a of that same MOC: In the video description, Itchy4000 wrote: "Lego Brückenlegepanzer Biber - Armoured vehicle launched bridge Supported by TomsBrickstore.de Speeded up 4 times. 6x IR Receiver 6x M-Motor 2x L-Motor 3x XL-Motor Cost 500€ Bridge length 93cm (37") Weight incl. bridge 3400g Bridge were tested with a 5 kg load on top and a wide of 80 cm (32"). You can see all photos on brickshelf under my username Itchy4000. No building instruction available." Quote
timslegos Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 When i saw the grey bridge layer i was fascinated! I have seen that type of mechanism before but i never thought it would be possible in Lego, very impressive. tim Quote
Lakop Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 These are some of the best lego technic engineering projects i've seen so far. I watched a video of a real bridge builder and these models are realistic. H Quote
Mike_K Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Is the Stilzkin Bridge Launcher a fictitious vehicle or exist a real example for it? Quote
DLuders Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Mahjqa invented the name of his "Stilzkin" brand of bridge launchers, since it sounds cool! Quote
Edwin Korstanje Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 I like all the bridges launchers But the one from Mahjqa the most, it's almost direct comes from the thunderbirds Quote
Gene Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 Love all featured video! Hope Lego will start their tank series! Quote

Rijkvv Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 I have to admit I prefer the Biber one. It looks the most like the thing I'm known to, both in looks and functions (although I know Armoured Vehicle-Launched Bridges excist using the way Mahjqa did). Quote
grohl Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 This model makes my mind blow out. Amazing piece of engineering. Quote
BobSmithHello55 Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 In Itchy's Panzerschnellbrücke Biber, he says he uses two large motors. I look on the Lego site but I do not see them selling them. How do people get these motors? Do they have to buy a whole set to get a motor, because I know the crawler has the motor in it? Do they get it from an online parts store? Any help is appreciated, I would love to have a couple of these motors. Thanks all. Quote

BobSmithHello55 Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Zux, just because Bricklink contains a lot of parts, doesn't mean it has every piece. I already looked there but there is no motor of this kind. Look at the site before you post something, Zux. Quote

Look at the site before you post something, Zux. Hey there, Bricklink isn't that straightforward to understand website. If you use some search magic, you may find list of L motors for sale. Just use Catalog > Parts > Electric, Motor for other types of electric motors. Quote

Thanks for bumping this thread matthewclso I hadn't seen the "panzerschnellbrücke Biber" before, and I truly am amazed. This is a great feet of engineering! It makes me want to build one of my own. I would however make it semi-automatic with an old Mindstorm RCX brick... A great project, but we will have to see if I can find the time... -ED- Quote
Kwon Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 All bridge lanchers are very awesome. (minus mine ) Quote
