But its all about keeping the brick count down and price. Double Streight section is 148 Bricks. Double Bend is 644 I found anything like this hard to find the best i could find was some pics to get a base idea off. Working on turnout and x over. Hrw-Amen Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Been doing something similar but I have not mounted it on baseplates due to the cost. Also I only have one track. I have been trying to get enough done to go the whole way around the edge of my living room, at the moment I only have about half the way done. It can be a killer though on the curves as I have used tons of little tiles to try and break it up and look ballasty! They cost a fortune so only two curves done at the moment and one switch. Just have to do a little at a time as I can afford it. Good to see your solution to the curves though, I may have to look into those larger modified plates as an option. Quote

Baseplates go for a good price on bricklink over getting them new from a shop. can get them for around a few US bucks. the cost will be going into the bends and turnouts with high brick counts. attached some other versions.
