Sigolf Brimabane Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 (edited) Hail to thee, fellow LEGO-fan! This Month my Brother and I started buying LotR LEGO. When it first came out, we weren't that impressed by it... Then when we first decided to buy some Sets (Moria, Uruk-Hai Army, Gandalf Arrives), our Opinion had changed and we thought all of the Sets to be really nice. So we've picked up all Sets from the LotR Series except Shelob and the Polybags. When we got our Hands on Helm's Deep, I was astounded over how many good Bricks there were in that Set. So I kept Watch on tradera.com (a Swedish Auction Site similar to eBay) for another Helm's Deep. And at last I got one, about 20 per cent cheaper than in the cheapest Stores. I had decided to do a MOC out of Helm's Deep. The overall Structure of the Hornburg is still there, but yeah... Ye will get to see for yourselves. This is what I made from 2 Helm's Deep and 1 Uruk-Hai Army: View from above: Side: Elfin Archers: The Back: View from the beleaguered Castle: Cavalry Charge: Another Picture: This is the first Time I upload anything I've built, and as ye all can see, it's not very original. But it looketh good, I think for myself. :) I took the Pictures with my Phone and I'm not a good Photographer so if the Pictures are Crap, let me know xD Maybe I should have taken more Photos of the round Structure in the Middle. It has a Door, and is made of two of those Things from the Helm's Deep Set (the Door being the only new Thing to it). Edited December 22, 2012 by Sigolf Brimabane Quote
Mr_Malfoy Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Great MOC! I love the round design of the fortress. Quote
soccerkid6 Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Very nice castle You incorporated the different sections from the set nicely Quote
Hive Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Good shape for a LEGO castle, though the structure in the center makes it a bit too crowded I think. Perhaps you could instead incorporate the round piece in the center as a huge tower in one of the corners of the main castle? I think that would look great. Quote
Sigolf Brimabane Posted December 22, 2012 Author Posted December 22, 2012 (edited) Thanks for the good response :D Good shape for a LEGO castle, though the structure in the center makes it a bit too crowded I think. Good thinking, although I don't really understand what the tower would look like. But I had some thoughts about a tower in some way... But I really like the round thing. The other option would be to extend the walls, making more room, I guess. But that I don't have bricks for :( The good thing with not having a tower is, however, that it looks pre-medieval. Antique even :D Like some kind of Iron Age fortification ^^ I just looked into Iron Age hill forts, and well... They were often round and situated upon hills. And I guess then that this would be a hill fort xD Edited December 22, 2012 by Sigolf Brimabane Quote
Andy D Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 (edited) Very nice! I like the round structure of the castle and I like the inner round structure, it gives it a feeling of layers of defense. Andy D Edited December 22, 2012 by Andy D Quote
Evil Porkchop Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 Very nice, I've been wanting to do something very similar. Just waiting to find another very cheap Helm's Deep. Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted December 26, 2012 Posted December 26, 2012 Very nice MOC, I like the black ladders! The whole castle is stunning! Quote
Sigolf Brimabane Posted December 26, 2012 Author Posted December 26, 2012 Very nice MOC, I like the black ladders! The whole castle is stunning! It's mostly just a rearrangement of 2 sets of LEGO Lord of the Rings's 'Helm's Deep' :) Quote
xbellicx Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 It's mostly just a rearrangement of 2 sets of LEGO Lord of the Rings's 'Helm's Deep' :) Yes it is nice, but still only a two 9474 putted together :-) Quote
