Saberwing40k Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 Well, as can be seen by the fact that I've posted this, the world has NOT ended on today, the 21st of December of 2012 . Did anybody actually believe that it was, or are we all a bunch of skeptics?Though, to be fair, I was hoping for some kind of earth shaking event, like a visitation by friendly aliens... Quote
Leo604 Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 (edited) I'm pretty sure that this whole conspiracy thing wouldn't exist if the Mayans weren't wiped out by colonization and actually got to keep working on their calendar. That being said, there have been several archaeologists and scientists who dispute the theory. So yeah, only thing I'm seriously worried about for today is whether there are any good Star Wars sets left at Walmart tonight to get for my brother. EDIT: Also a bit too much snow for driving comfort, but that's about it. Edited December 21, 2012 by Leo Crimson Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 Well it's past now and we are still here.....I think ......it was like the Y2K bug from the year 2000 remember....we'll wait now for those doomsday folks to say they got the math wrong eh ? Quote
splatman Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 I was listening to that exact vid. Had to throw in The Final Countdown first. then afterwards, Meltdown by Steve Taylor. Now, I'm listening to Mississippi Squirrel Revival by Ray Stevens. Give it a Splat! Quote

Martin_B Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 (edited) The best (by which I mean worst!) joke I heard was about a jar of salad dressing found in the back of a fridge labelled "use by 21 December 2012." They reckon it's mayannaise. The apocalypse stuff seems to happen with surprising frequency, considering the 'finality' of what's supposed to happen. I think of it this way: if the world IS going to end...well, there'll NOTHING around after that, which by the same token means there's nothing to worry about either! Hmm...that's getting a bit too philosophical. Maybe I should stick to searching for bad puns instead... Edited December 23, 2012 by Martin_B Quote
RaincloudDustbin Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 That was the most annoying day in social networking history! Quote
