PsyKater Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Unbelievable that it fits in that small box.... Quote
hachiroku Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Unbelievable that it fits in that small box.... The magic of winrar I finally built. Please lego, don´t stop here, it´s amazing. I can´t understand why so much critics with the design, it´s not a UCS, it´s BTTF in the Lego universe. I hope to see the Lybian´s VW bus, the white truck, the Biff´s ford... Quote
Ridge Montante Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 I just checked toysrus.com and they have it for $44.99. Marked it up quick. Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Mine arrived today, a day before the estimated delivery date - it is a time machine, after all. Yay! Quote
BrickG Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 If this was Amazon time travel would be possible. I once ordered something from Texas (I'm in california) and it magically got there the same day. This Lego set however seems to be stalled in the middle of Arkansas though... Quote
antp Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 It's back in stock at S@H and Amazon US! And moved from 9 Sept to 17 Sept on S@H EU :( Quote
blksuperman2 Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Got it yesterday. Such an awesome set. The Deloren really grows on you once you've built it. Quote
montgocloud Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 WARNING: RANT: My local LEGO store and TRU do not and have not had them. In fact, the Houston LEGO store started selling them on July 30, so when I arrived at 10:00 AM on August 1, they were all sold out. That is shameful. To directly disregard release dates and to disappoint your avid shoppers by doing so is nothing short of unprofessional. Hopefully they will get more in stock soon. Quote
BlueberryWaffles Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Mine arrived in the mail today. I love this set so much. I did mod it though: Removed cheese slopes by silver grill in the seat and replaced it with a 1x1 light grey tile. Now both Marty and Doc can sit. Took the tires off my Knight Bus and put them on the red wheels. Made a plutonium canister. Got lots of fire and put it behind the car. and I'm thinking about putting gitg tiles on the car. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 I think a lot of stores received them at weird times and I know my local LEGO store has had them in two or three times since the 18th and have sold out within the same day each time...if that says anything. Basically, get it when you can. I still haven't ordered a copy, but I plan to sometime soon. And I've seen it is on amazon.com so that may help a lot of people if they can't find it elsewhere. Quote
montgocloud Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Well it's back on the LEGO shop website... I ordered it and I'm cautiously optimistic that I might receive it. But who knows at this point. Order it now, folks! Quote
KingsKnight Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Got mine yesterday, had it shipped to my work and had to spend all day with the box by my side, not able to build it! But finally got home and built it. It's a great set. I still have my issue with the hood, but in person it's great. Everything is solid, except the doors. The whole bottom half of the door is connected by one stud, so they're a little flimsy, but it works for the careful kid/adult. Like any Lego set the beauty is that you can build it however you want, so I still plan to mod it. This is my starting point but I'll do more mods later: http://www.flickr.com/photos/27826536@N04/9418850265/ Quote

soundwarp Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 did anyone else who order on the lego shop get the international version? Quote
Sam892 Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Do LEGO release the sales figures for sets? It would be interesting to see how many Deloreans have been sold. I'm assuming its a lot, even my non AFOL friends are getting them. Surely we will see more BTTF sets in the future? Quote
just2good Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 did anyone else who order on the lego shop get the international version? That's strange, haven't heard of that happening until now. Surely we will see more BTTF sets in the future? They did that once, doubt they'll do it again anytime soon. I'm sure this will top the Amazon Best Sellers list, though. Quote
HawkLord Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Surely we will see more BTTF sets in the future? I would hope so, but I doubt it. I think a large part of the appeal on this set is that it is a one-off and not a line. People are seeing this as a stand-alone CUUSOO set from a movie IP. As the only way to get these figures and this vehicle, it stands that this set was guaranteed to be popular. If it was part of line where every other set had a Marty or Doc, I could see where overall, the Delorean would be about average in popularity. Plus, at this point they've nailed the most iconic piece from BTTF in three forms, I'm not sure where else they could go with this. Quote

No way that will ever happen unless there's a remake. Now, will we see more BTTF sets? Definitely! There are many popular BTTF projects on Cuusoo and those will reach 10K some day. But we might see one BTTF Cuusoo set a year at this rate. Edited August 11, 2013 by just2good Quote
RaincloudDustbin Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 No, I think maybe 1 more (the train). I'm kinda hoping it stays as is though because as much as I love BTTF, one collectible product with the 2 main characters and prop does more justice to the trilogy IMO. Off topic, Just2Good, have you seen the real one displayed at Universal Studios? I saw it last week and it was awesome. Quote
BlueberryWaffles Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 The time train and maybe Biff's Ford. Otherwise.........I don't see any other sets being made. Quote

Off topic, Just2Good, have you seen the real one displayed at Universal Studios? I saw it last week and it was awesome. The real train is awesome, I saw it a few years ago. I know they have a fibre glass copy of the car, and sometimes wheel one of the real ones out .Theres only three of the film ones left now. They made six BTTF Deloreans during filming the trilogy. One was destroyed by a train (end of part 3), one is in a car museum, two are at Universal studios and two were left to rot in the dessert. It's a shame they got rid of the BTTF ride instead of revamping it like Disney did with star tours. Quote
RaincloudDustbin Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Actually, there is only one at Uni now but it's a real one used in the film which was restored by the studio with the original props. I was naughty and jumped the barrier to get a proper look inside ( I mean, it's unlikely I'll ever see it again and it's my favourite film.) I hope they keep it at one set. Quote
