The first LEGO Christmas items were ads found in German magazines in the 1960s. Some of these were very nice..... (as found in my LEGO DVD/download chapter on LEGO Advertisements)....

The first Christmas type set was not really a set, but a TLG free promotion for visitors to the Billund Factory in 1964. This set came in Danish and German language variations... this being the German one. The outer box shows just the LEGO logo colors, and inside are smaller boxes with Christmas emblems... but the contain only regular LEGO bricks inside, and no specific model to build....

... and here's the inside boxes.... with the German leaflet.... (this set is found in Chapter 15 - LEGO Promotional Items.)...

If you have a lot of time during the Holidays... you can always get one of my LEGO DVD downloads for your computer desktops (PC or MAC) to give you (hundreds of) hours of reading enjoyment about 1000 things you never knew about LEGO... still available as a download (with free future updates) in the LEGO Bazaar on Eurobricks....
