Lasse D Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 I'm currently working on constructing a version of the main model of LEGO Model Team 5590 which is based on actual vehicles. I already have the truck which is a Scania R-series, but my experience when it comes to identifying suitable helicopters is rather limited. This is why I ask you, community members, to help me find a helicopter which looks somewhat like the helicopter from this set, and which would fit nicely onto a trailer just like in the set. It is my plan to construct building instructions for this model as well. Please just throw some ideas. Your help would be greatly appreciated. - Lasse Quote
Lasse D Posted December 15, 2012 Author Posted December 15, 2012 That's an excellent suggestion. I wonder if there is a lightly shorter version without the cargo area in the middle. Quote
Flipz Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 I, for one, would like to know what that vehicle in the bottom picture is. Quote
Lasse D Posted December 16, 2012 Author Posted December 16, 2012 > Flipz I made a topic discussing that model some time ago: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=68965 Quote
Modulex Guy Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 (edited) How about this; Eurocopter AS350: Edited December 21, 2012 by Polish Guy Quote
Lasse D Posted December 22, 2012 Author Posted December 22, 2012 Nice find Polish Guy. That helicopter has the right size. I will try to build the front of both models to see what works out the best. Quote
Lasse D Posted March 16, 2013 Author Posted March 16, 2013 I have started constructing the Bell helicopter. The decision fell on the nose being more similar to the helicopter from 5590 than other helicopters. I was supposed to build it in scale 1:25, but because of feet/metrics conversions going bad, I started building it way too large... Now I have to start over again. Quote
Faefrost Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 That's an excellent suggestion. I wonder if there is a lightly shorter version without the cargo area in the middle. There is a version of the Bell that is shorter with a smaller cargo area, but I think Modulex Guy is correct and it is probably closest to the Eurocopter. Quote
Lasse D Posted March 18, 2013 Author Posted March 18, 2013 I have not been able to find the shorter version, but it turned out not to be much of a problem once I got started on the Jet Ranger in the correct size. It's really a small and sleek aircraft: Quote
