Leo604 Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 With all the Wolverine stuff going on, do you think we could ever see his actual costume in the MCU or is it just one of those costumes that wouldn't transition well onto the big screen? I think bright yellow would kind of make the audience cringe a little, since yellow is sort of a glaring colour to stare at for several hours, and it might look a little ridiculous IRL. Quote

The colors are harsh enough on screen, but I think his normal mask / headgear would just look ridiculous. He would not be alone in this problem. Notice how the Thor movie conveniently neglected his classic winged hat. Quote
Spider-Man Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Yeah it would definitely be bright on screen! I just want to see what they would make it actually look like in real life. That leather he wears in the X-Men movies just doesn't do Wolverine justice. Quote

The leather jacket he wore in Origins was a reference to one of his outfits, as it was based on it. -Omi Quote
The Brigante Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 The leather jacket he wore in Origins was a reference to one of his outfits, as it was based on it. -Omi Didn't he wear that jacket in X1 as well? Or was it just similar? Either way, consider this: He will be spending time with the past X-Men. FACT. The past X-Men wear yellow spandex. FACT. I think the chances of us seeing some form of the yellow and blue suit are pretty high. Quote
Omicron Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Didn't he wear that jacket in X1 as well? Or was it just similar? Nah he just had a regular jacket in X1. -Omi Quote
Spider-Man Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 (edited) The leather jacket he wore in Origins was a reference to one of his outfits, as it was based on it. -Omi Yeah I was just referring to the first 3 X-Men movies I didn't like his outfits in. Origins was fine costume wise, well except for 'Deadpool'! Edited July 28, 2013 by Spider-Man Quote
Sam892 Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 I heard somewhere ( can't remember where ) that Wolvie will have the classic yellow and blue in DOFP. Also I remember Hugh Jackman saying at Comic con that he was walking around in his DOFP costume and no one recognised him. Quote

I also want to see Hugh from Comic Con! That would be awesome to see him like that. I remember Andrew Garfield did the same thing last year. Quote

I love it when celebs just casually walk amongst the crowd in the open with no one noticing. -Omi Quote
Leo604 Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Yeah I was just referring to the first 3 X-Men movies I didn't like his outfits in. Origins was fine costume wise, well except for 'Deadpool'! I really hope they'll end up going with his solo movie; Ryan Reynolds' potential was hugely wasted, and I'd be totally fine with it being R-rated. If not, maybe sometime in the future....something could happen. Quote

He better get his comic costume this time though! Quote
Vindicare Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 I've always been a bit irked by some having their comic costume and some don't. Especially Deadpool...what the hell was that?! Quote
Spider-Man Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 I've always been a bit irked by some having their comic costume and some don't. Especially Deadpool...what the hell was that?! Yeah I feel the same way. If the audience can have a talking tree and raccoon, then I think they can handle a bright yellow and blue costume. There is just no excuse for Deadpool though. They even sewed his mouth shut which is just not something you do to Deadpool! Quote

How is he supposed to live up to his moniker 'Merc with a mouth' if he can't even talk! I think all the costumes are too iconic, at least to us comic fans, to not have them. Quote
Omicron Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 How is he supposed to live up to his moniker 'Merc with a mouth' if he can't even talk! Even the absolutely amazing Wolverine Origins video game poked fun at that. During that scene, he literally says "Well I guess you're not the merc with the mouth anymore". And my friend was like "REALLY? Really?". -Omi Quote
just2good Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 (edited) So what did y'all think of the leaked ASM2 trailer? It looks... interesting. Seems like there's gonna be a lot of stuff going on, so I'm hoping it's not like SM3. OH AND WOAH 3K POSTS Edited July 31, 2013 by just2good Quote
Spider-Man Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 First thought: That suit is damn near perfect Spidey's dialogue is also fantastic. The movie does look like it has a lot going on, and I think that there is going to be even more if some of the rumors and speculations are true! I might be biased but I can't say anything bad about it. It sounded like Electro's voice was a lot clearer as well so that is definitely good Quote
Spider-Man Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 (edited) Sorry for double post, but I don't think this DoFP poster has been posted yet! Edited July 31, 2013 by Spider-Man Quote
Ceroknight Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Loving these past/future posters! The spiderman trailer looks good too! Quote
Leo604 Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Is that an official poster? I'm just curious cause it uses the same jacket for Logan but I could be wrong. Quote
Spider-Man Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 (edited) Is that an official poster? I'm just curious cause it uses the same jacket for Logan but I could be wrong. I just found it by googling X-Men DoFP so I assumed it was one of the ones shown at CC with future Wolverine. Edited July 31, 2013 by Spider-Man Quote
Leo604 Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 I just found it on IMBD so I assumed it was one of the ones shown at CC with future Wolverine. Oh ok; I just thought the Entertainment Weekly posters were the first official ones released, unless Tumblr lied about that. Quote
Clone OPatra Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Those aren't official: see here, 'fan made.' I thought that Wolverine poster was fan-made just by the fact that 'present-day' Wolverine won't be old and gray looking. It's pretty common knowledge that there's a teaser for DofP on The Wolverine, and it's not spoiling anything to say that Wolverine looks just as he always did. So, cool fan art, but not representative of the film. Quote
Leo604 Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Thoughts on The Wolverine: First off, it was a lot better than I thought and definitely superior to Origins. Pretty good story, and they did a decent job Logan's loss of his invincibility and how he dealt with it for that time in the film. Once Silver Samurai started fighting, I kind of thought it was big enough to house a person and Viper's intentions, and the way she talked about fulfilling Yashida's dying wish make it somewhat obvious the old man was inside plotting away. On an unrelated sidenote, Svetlana Khodchenkova is really hot: Overall, a good movie and a nice credits scene with Magneto and Xavier foreshadowing DoFP. Really looking forward to that next year.
