Scorpiox Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 Does Andrew Garfield count as American. That depends on if he is, I know nothing about the man. I'm only referring to the fact that Spider-Man and most others are American superheroes and were originally written as such. Quote
Leo604 Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 And, like half of us here, evidently Michael B. Jordan isn't taking Garfield too seriously: http://perezhilton.com/2013-07-15-michael-b-jordan-responds-to-andrew-garfield-gay-spider-man-idea#.UehIBqyNHkE Quote
Spider-Man Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 (edited) Yeah, I think he was just saying it as a way to say that they have a lot of directions they can take the movie. I highly doubt they would make Peter gay, maybe they can add Wiccan if they are looking for a gay character to add. On another note I can't wait for tomorrow to see what they have planned with the whole "Electro Arrives" campaign Jamie Foxx looks awesome in the costume and make up, and from the looks of it, he should play a pretty great villain! (Hopefully the speculation of ASM 2 sets is true so we can all have an Electro ) Hopefully the sound is just bad because we are listening through computers... Edited July 18, 2013 by Spider-Man Quote
SteampunkDoc Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Well, anybody else seen this? My expectations have just fallen...Not that much, but fallen nevertheless. Somehow this Electro just doesn't seem....Right. Lizard was cool, and I was hoping the sequel's villain would be just as good, if not better. And while the name of Electro got me hyped, something just seems off in this. Sure it's a very short teaser that hardly shows anything, but you know what they say about first impressions.... Quote
Spider-Man Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 I wouldn't judge just yet! Tomorrow we should get a better idea of what Electro will really be like. I think this Electro will work, might just take a little time to get used to, plus I think it will work well with the back story they are giving him! Quote
Oky Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 At last: SENTINELS! Here is a first look at them. Quote
Mr Man Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 At last: SENTINELS! Here is a first look at them. Made by an anagram of Stark Industries . The heads do look like the one from X3 which is good. Quote
wesker Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Seeing this only makes me want a Lego Sentinel even more. Quote
The Legonater Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Nice. The Sentinels are one of the main reasons I'm so excited for this movie. Quote
Leo604 Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 (edited) Avengers 2 official name, as unveiled at SDCC tonight and on their FB page: EDIT: Added more detail in the first sentence. Edited July 21, 2013 by Leo Crimson Quote
SteampunkDoc Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 So....Ant-Man's introduction in Avengers 2 instead of his solo movie? I could do that. Sounds cool, although they'll have a hard time making it bigger and more threatening than the alien attack from Avengers 1. What's the release date on this one again? Quote
Spider-Man Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 (edited) Omg yes!!! I love Ultron and I am so happy he will get an appearance! He is a great villain and should be seriously cool to watch in action. I wonder how closely it will follow the events from the recent Age of Ultron comic series? Edit: I was hoping that the inclusion of extremis in Iron Man, and the Ultron action figure in the Iron Man 3 line meant we would eventually see Ultron and now it seems we will! The Legonater Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Not sure how they'll set up Ultron without an Ant-Man movie first, but I'll be interested to see how it goes. Either way, I'm glad to see an Ultron arc. I was hoping for one as soon as they announced Ant-Man, so this should be pretty good. Quote
Oky Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Ultron, eh? Sounds good. Kinda makes more sense too, since having another alien attack Earth would be a bit redundant. So either Thanos is waiting for Avengers 3 or he will be the villain in Guardians. Considering that Nebula, Thanos' daughter, will be in GotG, the latter seems more likely, Either way I'm cool with it. Not sure how they'll set up Ultron without an Ant-Man movie first, but I'll be interested to see how it goes. Yeah, it does seem odd, but it could work. What's the release date on this one again? IMDb says 1 May 2015, though I'm not sure if that's confirmed. I wonder how closely it will follow the events from the recent Age of Ultron comic series? I don't think it will have anything to do with the comics. They're just using the title. By the way, here's also some concept art and more info on the Guardians of the Galaxy: Quote
Spider-Man Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Star-Lord looks a little disappointing in that picture. I hope at some point he gets his helmet at least! Groot on the other hand looks perfect to me! The article also mentions that Ronan the Accuser is in the movie which all but confirms the villain will be Thanos! I am getting more and more excited for this with every bit of news! Quote
Tanma Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 So excited for Avengers 2, Ultron was one of my favorite villains in EMH. (season one at least) He started out so good, trying to help protect people. But slowly though a combination of factors he developed into one of their greatest villains, and almost destroyed all life on Earth. I can't wait to see what he will do. Best of all if we have Ultron we might get Hank and Jan. Especially hoping for Jan, Black Widow is looking pretty lonely there. And as many of you know, Jan is one of my favorite characters in EMH. I recall seeing an interview with Joss Whedon where he said he wanted to 'leave the best for last', and that he'd rather amp up to Thanos. It makes sense. I'm just wondering if we'll ever see Galactus in the MCU, and if so, how they'll pull it off. Quote

Indecently who owns Daredevil and Ghostrider? Quote

wesker Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Daredevil (and by extension Elektra) should be back with Marvel now. I remember a while back Marvel offered Fox an extension to the license if they got the rights for Galactus and Silver Surfer in return, but it didn't pan through. Quote
Sam892 Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 I think Joss has confirmed that Antman won't create Ultron and won't appear in Avengers 2 either. The most likely thing that will happen is the J.A.R.V.I.S corrupts and becomes Ultron. This would also serve as a great reason for Tony Stark become Iron man again, being that he has to stop a monster he created. Also J.A.R.V.I.S would have access to mechanical suits and the technology to build them ( Tony Starks new Lab). Quote

You can't just give everything in the MCU to Tony, he feels too much like the star already. And I know Hank should be known for more than just his biggest mistakes, but they are still his. I mean I get giving it to Tony since he already made Jarvis, but still. And worse of all, I now worry Jan might not be in this. Which saddens me on a molecular level. Quote

For one, as Tanma said, it can't all be about Stark, especially with RDJ's licence coming to a close soon. Two, Ant-Man is vital to the Ultron arc. MARVEL has shown they are willing to combine and alter arcs, but removing Ant-Man from the Ultron arc would be like having Red Skull without Captain America. It doesn't make sense. Quote
Sam892 Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Here's the article where Joss confirms no Hank Pymm in Avengers 2 http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/JoshWildingNewsAndReviews/news/?a=83845 Honestly I can see that happening: A) They need a reason for Tony to become Iron man. B) while it is possible it's unlikely they will say Hank Pymm created Ultron if he isn't in the Film. While I personally would like to see Pymm create Ultron I guess they are going a different route. It makes some sense as well. Edgar Wright doesn't want Hank Pymm as Antman he wants Scot Lang. I don't think Scot creating Ultron works personally, also Hank may not fit with Hanks character. I haven't read much about Hank Pymm, I've read the first Ultimates arc and Age of Ultron AU 1 and Avengers Disassembled. From those three arcs all I've got is that his biggest mistakes are creating Ultron and beating his wife. I can't see Disney wanting to use him for the whole wife beating thing. Sure Tony was an alcoholic, but it rarely gets mentioned now a days. But with Hank from the three stories I've read and what I've been told by others the Wife beating is mentioned every so often. I think that's why they are going Scot Lang and maybe having Tony create Ultron. But I do agree Tony is having to much revolve around him in the MCU, I guess it's because he sells tickets. Quote
