Chocolatecake Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 Wow! So many details in every single room in the house, I am very impressed. Quote
Hoexbroe Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 Absolutly fantastic jaw-dropping build!!! The details are totally over the top. Congratulations on this job -and the nice photos! (Only one small suggestion; The red frontdoor seems a little small, compared to the big house... I know that dutch doors are not wide, but tall...) Quote
alois Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 I guess you mean the tiled floor on the ground floor? It was actually inspired by this building. http://www.flickr.co...azy/7501234070/ I wanted to copy it, but had no idea how to do it. I took me some time to find out how. Actually most of the parts are attached, only a handful are not. I added a picture of the building technique I used. All I can say is that it consumes a lot of parts... You could just have asked me . But the design wasn't my idea either, it was developed by Erik Amzallag. I very much like the ceiling, by the way, haven't seen anything like it yet. Quote
TwoKnightsBicycle Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 I especially like the second floor. Great job! Quote
Redhead1982 Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Great building with lots of lovely details. Floor tiling is my favourite. Quote

It took me a while to figure out how it was done. I used 1x1 bricks with 1 knob to attach either the 2x1 tiles or the 1x8 tiles for the joints. This means that not all tiles are attached and that the long joints are sort of hoovering on one side. I have put a loose 1x8 tile underneath it to support it. I couldnt find a better way and it looks effective enough, but perhaps you found a way?? Quote

harton Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Wow, I'm still looking at it (10 minutes has past...) and I'm really speechless of the masterpiece that is your creation! There is so many things to said about the "too many things to see". I'm glad happy to see your floor tehcnique as your first picture! I assume that from now on we will see it more often! - I'll start by the door, which is impressive, and a really good use of those curve pieces and especially the linear one at the bottom put on the side, genius! - I like your shutter, they are effective especially when your looking from a certain distance - Your attic or your third floor is my favorite on, your piano is really good looking - Your windows are great with the color sample, it add a nice touch - Oh and your water evacuation hole at the bottom of the foundation, this is a win! Well done, hope to see more modular Quote
