Hey Joe Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 Normally I read the 'On This Day' section of Wikipedia, it's a good way to stay brushed up on history and whatnot. Anyway, like the title says, Blackbeard was killed in battle on this day (November 22nd) in 1718. I thought you scurvy sea dogs might be interested. This is the link to the Wikipedia article here. Blackbeard and JFK on the same day? Some connection perhaps? I wonder if Oliver Stone knows? Quote
Grimmbeard Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 I'm not really sure if I should praise him or not, since he was a bad man I suppose. But as a pirate fan, may his soul rest in peace. Quote

But as a pirate fan, may his soul rest in peace. There's some interesting reading in that Wikipedia article about the perceptions of pirates then and now. Check it out. Sebeus I Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 He was a privateer that went rogue which earned him the title 'pirate', atleast that's how I see it. Interesting to know Quote
Capt. Stabbin Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 I hear that when they threw his body overboard, It circled the ship 3 times before sinking! Truly a legendary pirate! Quote
