Minifig Lecturer Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 hmm something like this happened to me by accident when my pirate island and my oil heater got too friendly one winter when i was small. I didn't notice something was up until I got the smell :-/ Quote
Aaron Morse Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 I used to have a recurring nightmare as a child that my lego a went down the drain in the bathtub or in the drainage pipe we had in the basement. And I've actually taken pictures of my lego if the apartment burns down for insurance purposes. hmm something like this happened to me by accident when my pirate island and my oil heater got too friendly one winter when i was small. So did I, I believe someone must have linked it to one of the Lego imitations or a Pirate thread somewhere, I can't remeber where. What a sick Pyromaniac! Quote
Captain Roger Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 what's that? a MOC? a lego imitation? Quote
Minifig Lecturer Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 I used to have a recurring nightmare as a child that my lego a went down the drain in the bathtub or in the drainage pipe we had in the basement. And I've actually taken pictures of my lego if the apartment burns down for insurance purposes. Once I found my younger brother and his friend flushing some parts down the downstairs toilet and laughing their heads off. They weren't after I found them. Quote
El Bucanero Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 what's that? a MOC? a lego imitation? The ship is from a imitation brand called best-lock... I own this one myself, and the quality is horrible!! Once I found my younger brother and his friend flushing some parts down the downstairs toilet and laughing their heads off. They weren't after I found them. What have you done with them?! :skel1: Quote
Aaron Morse Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 Thats called justifiable homicide. Brothers can be replaced...lego can't. Once I found my younger brother and his friend flushing some parts down the downstairs toilet and laughing their heads off. They weren't after I found them. Quote
Hinckley Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 What a sick Pyromaniac! Okay seriously, what is this a picture of? Also, they just did this on Mythbusters. They tried to replicate Archimede's (sic) Death Ray and it didn't work. It couldn't burn through the wet bronzed wood of a moving ship. This idiot pointed a mirror directly at a stationary plastic toy. Of course it burned. Any kid who's ever played with GI Joe and a maginifying glass would know that!...not that I ever did that... :-/ Quote

I own this one myself, and the quality is horrible!!What have you done with them?! :skel1: :-D well, i told my brother that i saw him flushing down some bits from his train station, so for years after, when we argued and split our lego along ownership lines, i always had this excuse not to give him some grey boards... 8-| Thats called justifiable homicide. Brothers can be replaced...lego can't. :-D :-D well, i wouldn't have mind "popping" his mate that day :-D but i think i caught them before they did too much and i think alot wouldnt flush down properly so I retrieved it by ... oo7 Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 Also, they just did this on Mythbusters. Well if you count "just" as one year ago, okay. They tried to replicate Archimede's (sic) Death Ray and it didn't work. What's (sic)? It couldn't burn through the wet bronzed wood of a moving ship. This idiot pointed a mirror directly at a stationary plastic toy. Of course it burned. Any kid who's ever played with GI Joe and a maginifying glass would know that!...not that I ever did that... :-/ Yes, of course, that's the point! It burned! (Or at least melted) Quote
Hinckley Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 Well if you count "just" as one year ago, okay. Hey! I thought we were friends! Stop picking on my posts. :-$ I assume that's the winking pirate. I can't tell because of the patch. Anyway, I saw that episode for the first time on Wednesday. So there. What's (sic)? sic was misused here, I mean sp as I don't know how to spell Archimede's. sic is used when you are quoting someone who used incorrect spelling or grammar, you insert sic to indicate the grammatical or spelling error is that of the person being quoted. Yes, of course, that's the point! It burned! (Or at least melted) Oh I guess that was his point and not proving Archimede's death ray. I realize that now that i've gone back an paid more attention to the context of the web page. Thanks for pointing that out. Cool avatar, by the way. It moves! X-D Quote

Don't worry, It's more of 'thoroughly analyzing' than 'picking on'. ;-) <<Ugly winking smilie Anyway, I saw that episode for the first time on Wednesday. So there. Emhm. sorry. Soley out of curiosity, what channel is Discovery by you? Mythbusters is a great show, although I don't whach much TV and don't know when it's on. sic was misused here, I mean sp as I don't know how to spell Archimede's. sic is used when you are quoting someone who used incorrect spelling or grammar, you insert sic to indicate the grammatical or spelling error is that of the person being quoted. Ah, thanks, I was never aware of that small Latin term. Oh I guess that was his point and not proving Archimede's death ray. I realize that now that i've gone back an --[sIC]-- paid more attention to the context of the web page. Thanks for pointing that out. Errr....I don't exactly fully comprehend that there but I guess, you're welcome. *y* Cool avatar, by the way. It moves! X-D Thank you! It's from Heli Attack 3, and I have several variations with different guns all of which I 'borrowed' from members of the Miniclip Forums. (No, I don't have an account there) Quote
oo7 Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 28. I don't know when it's on either, I just happen to find it occasionally when nothing is on. Hmm. It's 27 where I live. No problem. It's one of favorite little know-it-all pieces of useless info to carry around. I think it's funny that I mis-used it, so if you quoted my original post you could have put [sic] after [sic]. Oh boy! I'm a dork! Ah, clever. I don't remember either... OK, that works! *sweet* Quote
Scouty Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 It's 61 here. and must say, I absolutely LOVE this show. Also with Dirty Jobs. Unfortunately, due to the lost of cable, :-\ , I can no longer watch any of those shows, neither the History Channel and OutDoor channel ;*-( . V Oops. Sorry, I helped bring off topic, but there isn't much we can do for this little ship. Quote
