xwingyoda Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 Ohhh, I was watching an episode of SB to have another look at Miss Puff Boating School and this can make a fantastic set if they do the house and especially the lighthouse 8- Quote
Christian Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 Here is the first picture of the harry potter set! I know the pic is kinda small. Quote
BryanKinkel Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 I know the pic is kinda small. And so is the set. At least it seems small. The picture does not really give much away. But it looks like a very small Hogwarts (compared to older Hogwarts sets). -- Bryan Quote
sam89 Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 It looks alright I guess, but it's too small. You can see a black skeleton horse with wings in the pic. Quote

Yeah, you are right it does look kinda small, but I think that I will make a nice add-on to the second version of the hogwarts, cause they are build in similar style, with gray bricks at the bottom and tan bricks for the top floors of the buildings Quote
DoubleT Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 Thanks Christian But for me it looks like there is another wing in the right side going outside the pic? Quote
phoinix Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 im really not liking this one.. looks too bulky.. and very small... and its basicly one tower... the other hogwarts looked very nice compared to this one.. hope this is a pro-pro-pro-prototype...otherwise *n* Quote
El Bucanero Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 Man that's too small, it looks rather lumpy, and poor. I like the one from the third book better.... hope this is a pro-pro-pro-prototype...otherwise *n* Yes let's hope it's a prototype... Quote
oo7 Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 Thank you fo this interesting find, Christian. I thought TLG would abandon Harry this year, with the lack of stets last year, the lack news this year, and the huge abundance of new sets this year. After all, the 5th book is pretty sucky. I too think it is chunky compared to the previous Hogwarts sets but compared to the movie it's fine. Front Page, I say! Quote
sam89 Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 Front Page, I say! It already has been ;-) Quote
alex54 Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 For the Hogwart castle, I prefer the second one. The new one will be a nice addition to it, but too small to pretend to be a castle for me. Maybe we will have some other castle parts, but I don't think when you know the story (the action is more outside of the castle). Nice for the SB sets! Just hope that we will not have to wait one year to see them in Europe... And a Miss Puff minifig, that sounds cool! I think that the two sets will be nice, because I was septic the firts time I read here from some SB sets, and TLC have made a very cool stuf with them. Quote
boxcar3 Posted January 13, 2007 Author Posted January 13, 2007 this is definately a prototype because look at dumbledore. its the old minifig of dumbledore, why would they use the old one when they have a perfectly good new version to look like michael gambon. Quote
xwingyoda Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 I want to see SB pics !! I am so hoping for a light house ;-) This would be so great for our city !! *yoda* Quote
BearHeart Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 Its definately not as good as the previous Hogwarts castles, however, it does look like a prototype pic. As for its size, it does look like its four "storeys" tall I think its just look small on the pic. I will buy this set for sure either way. Quote
blueandwhite Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 Well, it definitely looks like a wing of the castle has been chopped off in this photo (to the right). I'm not jumping to conclusions just yet. Still, it does seem odd that there is only one set this year, given the upcoming release of the film. As a parts pack, this castle looks pretty decent. I'm still curious as to what the other wing of the castle looks like (assuming there is one). Quote
Hinckley Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 Thanks for the pic, Christian. It seems pretty craptastic to me. I think it definitely has to be a prototype but where did it come from? Correct me if I'm wrong but there aren't three 'l's in castillo? Are there? I think it has potential, especially if it's just a prototype. I love the gabled roof above the door and all of the arches used. However, why is there a small cone on the highest tower? It also seems to be like an hp castle sandwich with non-ornate black roofs separating each level. After seeing the new castle line I know TLG can do better that this. I hope this is a prototype and would love to see the finished product. Quote
Starwars4J Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 This really had better be a prototype...it's just so horrible if it isn't. I mean...it's so small, for a castle? This set in previous incarnations has been huge. *waits and prays this isn't anywhere near the final version* Though...prototypes rarely change much in size or complexity... Quote
exo attack Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 I hope we get the spongebob pics soon! Quote

Hinckley Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 I have a special request for everyone: Can we please stop making statements like this one: "Hey! I have huge news about LEGO. But, I'm sworn to secrecy, so I can't tell you what it is. But I can tell you it's HUGE and it's going to blow everyone's mind!!" ? Isn't there a saying that goes "If you can't say anything about inside information, don't say anything at all."? Seriously, some of you people would never be hired by the CIA. ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) <--indicates humor >:-( <--indicates truth in jest. Quote

Who said they had news but couldn't share it? EDIT; Ah, your're refering to Alex's comment, right? I belive that he was trying to use the saying "I couldn't have said it better myself" or something along the lines of that, but he instinctively used French syntax. Quote

Zaktan of the Shadows Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 The Harry Potter set was on that catalouge thing so I doubt it would be like that in final. I think its too <insert that tiresome argument> with hardly any detail. Nice mini-figs though. -ZotS Quote
