daisy Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 10656 My First LEGO Princess cannot be the end of the attempt. Does anyone know if it is being stocked with the regular LEGOs or the LEGO Friends aisle? I got my set at TRU. It was with the other bricks and more sets. Which at TRU happens to be in the same aisle as friends. I haven't seen anywhere else yet. Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 (edited) Found pictures, but can't see a wolf emblem anywhere. Edited January 10, 2013 by TheBoyWonder Quote
omegabob Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Found pictures, but can't see a wolf emblem anywhere. Are the pictures you saw better quality than has been posted on here already? And if possible can you send me a message with the link? Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Same quality, can't remember where I found them now. Quote
october Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 It seems like a wolf to me, but as I stated I am not 100% sure. Quote
songwm Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 My friend judged its a dragon. He saw the picture too. Quote
SirBlake Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 My friend judged its a dragon. He saw the picture too. That would seem more likely, and infinitely more disappointing. :-/ Quote
Sir Walter Maugham Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Hmm... That kinda looks like it could be either one. But it looks a tad more dragon-like to me. Quote
Kai NRG Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 At that size, it looks more dragonish because of the fuzzy lines. But when I zoomed in, it looked way more like a wolf. I'm going to say it's a wolf. Quote
Maxim I Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 I think it is a mad looking squirrel... (you know, like the one of Ice Age) Quote
Sirrico Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 The red faction uses a *red* dragon-like vehicle (70404) and a *red* dragon as a pet (70403). For me it's an easy decision ... Quote
Hive Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Looks like yet another dragon. So dissapointing. Especially since both shields will then be rehashes of not only the very last Castle series, but poor versions of it to boot. Not to mention that they've done both in the past as well. Why couldn't they just keep Kingdoms, but make the new sets appeal to a younger age group? I really don't see the purpose of creating two new factions if they are only to be uglier, inferior versions of those they already have. I'm puzzled. Quote

Good point there. Well, I still say it looks more like a wolf, but yeah, a dragon is more likely. Personally I don't really care, as I wasn't around for the wolfpack, and as far as preference it's a toss-up... but I do think the shield lacks something... maybe it should have a red rather than white/grey border? Artifex Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 I'd say that's definetely a dragon. How dissapointing. Well, instead of bashing this theme over and over, I'll just leave this discussion and see what the sets look like when the first reviews come out. I wish we had a Kingdoms II or a return of the Black Falcons and/or Forestmen. This new theme is just not for me. Quote
dyntar Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 To me that shape on the shield looks like the outline of the Lego Dragons head. It has too many points on the top of its head for it to be a wolf. I hope they do more to the shield than just having a black background, silver edging with bolts in the corners and a red dragons head on the front. Lego should put some sort of texture on the black otherwise its going to be a very unexciting shield. Quote
Mr. Elijah Timms Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Whether its a dragon or a wolf, one thing is certain-- that's just not a very aesthetically pleasing design. After cranking out such impeccably beautiful shields and crests of late, both in Kingdoms and particularly in the CMFs, they give us THAT?!? I can only pray this is all placeholder nonsense and the good folks over at TLG are reading all this and having a bit of a chuckle at our expense... Quote
SirBlake Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Terrible. Luckily, it's scientifically proven that kids respond to poor design by begging their parents to throw money at it. /sarcasm Quote
legobear Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 I think it is a mad looking squirrel... (you know, like the one of Ice Age) I'm going with DaMaximus on this one. No kidding, look at the furry thing with the long scrawny nozzle. It's going to be a squirrle faction . Kidding aside. What I recall most about Castle is how TLG goes about putting out prelims and then re-doing the theme based on how they feel about the set - I think ; ). I know for Vikings it was definitely this way. Much of the original prelims were completely done over and it was beautiful when it was released but more kid friendly than most AFOLs liked. I think this new theme will be good. Everything so far as been up to "quality" if you know what I mean so I don't see why they would let us down on this new theme. If they do though and it comes out looking like the squirrel from Ice Age..... there's going to definitely be a revolt. You know what I mean? All my factions will attack the squirrel is all. Quote
Crownie Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 I liked the Wolf idea better, but it's all good. It will give me castle pieces to work with either way, and for that I'm very grateful. I can always go back and use sigils from older factions or wait for newer ones if I find them not to my liking. What I find really interesting is that October has a higher-res pic... Just how does one grease those palms? Quote
Teh Stud Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 I'm always in favor of a new shield design. Even if it is the same creature, like a dragon, it can be a part of the family that split off and wants to differentiate themselves. Think about Game of Thrones... If it is a wolf, maybe a Stark family member splits off. If a dragon, it is a long lost Tygarian returned from over seas... Anyway, anything new is good in my book. Now, I agree that the design doesn't look as good. lol. I would also prefer a new animal with a better crest, but I can make it work. Quote
Lordofdragonss Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Guys, chill out. Remember, pictures are not final! Quote
TheLegoDr Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 It definitely does look like a long snout wolf. However, using dragons as set names would assume that it is indeed a dragon. Although there is a dog (wolf) in the small set, so that is interesting. Either way, that particular shield isn't too appealing. However, I will wait to see final pictures before I make the end-all judgment. But I am hoping it continues to look this poor because then I won't feel bad not getting the sets. I keep wanting TLG to release less good stuff so I can start to save some money on this hobby. Quote
Crownie Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 However, I will wait to see final pictures before I make the end-all judgment. I feel like we should all be placing this as a disclaimer after our posts, lol. Quote
