Ok Asuka i see your point i asking this question and understand your suggestion, i would like to be clear that i moved your post to the Moc Section as thats where it should go in my opinion and it was nothing personnal. If i had of had the time i would of moved all of the others over aswell but alas i did not.

By adding more sections to exsisting forums space, city etc it would mean more work for us and would also take up more space. The whole point in having a MOC Section is so that things here are easy to find and in one specific location.

I think it would ruin the lay-out of some forums. For instance, the pirate forum has way too much subforums in my opinion. I like the place the moc forum has now :-).

May I suggest theme sub categories within the Moc forum. This maybe a bit extreme and much work, but it would make for more orginized browsing. Possibly start off with a "brickshelf finds/other's creations" category.

For now, I'm guessing you want us to post all unofficial Lego creations within the Moc forum?

aside from space/pirate mocs, since they already subforums ofcourse.

Speaking of space mocs and categories, I think mechs should be seperate from space.

By having mocs in forums other than the Moc Section this also means that many great mocs go unseen, i like all lego but i very rarely go into the space forum which means if a moc is posted there im not going to see it.

Where as if its in the Moc Section im going to have a much better chance of seeing it.

I think this idea is already working because there is the Space Docking Bay-subforum which excludes mechas.... at least if they aren

It dosent have to be a dream, with alittle work the mocs can be posted in the Moc Section and a topic pinned informing why.

Like youve pointed out its a real mess at the moment and thats something that we both argee on unless im mistaken.

So something needs to be sorted.

I stand corrected :-$ the mechs are seperate but mocs are not seperate from general space info or official designs.

Yes, I am reviving a dead topic, but it was discussed before I joined. :-$

I would just like to say that I agree with Asuka. What is the MOC forum for anyway? Since every genre of MOCs seem to be covered by the other sections, isn't the MOC forum redundant? While I agree with the angle that the MOC forum is a good "one stop shop", it also is hard to find what you want for the same reason.

For example, my Aqua Raiders mods. I posted them in the MOC section only because I wasn't aware that they were classed as town. (I only realised that they were when *yoda* updated the index.) Would I have been wrong if I posted them in "LEGO Trains & Town"?

NO WAY ON EARTH !!

How is that for an answer !! Like I said so many times, tks God EB is NOT like the pirate forum and there is NO need for MOC subs everywhere !! Why do you think we have indexes for Pete's sake !!

And there is another NO regarding the MOC forum !! It embodies the EB spirit by beeing freestaylme so there will NOT be any subs in there !!

Arghh its an old topic revival due to Sinner >:-(

Lets take an example regarding space: you would probably get more replies in the MOC forum rather than in the dead space forum ;-)

And yes that MOC forum has its utility !!

Errr.. sorry. I didn't mean to annoy you. I was just going though the MOC forum catching up when it occured to me and I remembered this old topic. :-$

No more subs please! I dislike them very much. *sad*

I think some more clarification about the creation forum would be nice though. It might work better if we had all the creations go in there, or just the ones that don't fit in the other sections. Right now it's pretty confusing as to what goes where.

No worries at all mate ;-) I thought it was yet another rant on that issue ans when I finished my post I realised it was some Sinner catching up X-D

No worries, I think I dislike them as much as you do ;-)

Well Yes and No to be honest !!

EB has always been a freestyle community that didn't need rules because its members behaved and what have you !! To keep that spirit, we implemented that 18 years old policy. And to keep it further, I don't see the need to have strict rules on what goers where.

Why ? Easy: some people will not read them, will not abide them, some MOCs will incorporate several themes and what have you, and I and other staff members don't want to waist a lot of time moving threads around !! We are tired of police work !!

And once again, thats why we have indexes: to find out trhe best of EB in one pinned thread.

Also it would be havoc if you had every single MOC in that forum !! Having them spread a bit is a tad confusing but wxorks really well overall ;-)
