ghoulrealm Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 All of my arthropods of late have been crustations. It was about time I give the world of insectica their just due. This is my first and hopefully not last insect creation..... an ant. I'm not intirely happy with the colors, but it's the best I could do for now. Quote
exo attack Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Wow. It looks really cool but the legs look too complicated Quote
Asuka Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 A very smart construction! *y* Head, boddy, legs.... pretty intelligent. Quote
Athos Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 A most impressive ant! Maybe we could have a giant insect theme, similar to divers and Vikings? Steve Quote

oo7 Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 the legs look too complicated That's the beaty of it! One of this MOC's highlights is thst there is so much detail cremmed into such a small space, just like a real ant. Very inovative building! OK, now if you want a really nitpicky comment to contemplate complete perfection, here it is; I think the antenae on the sides of the head make the head look to wide, it would be a little more realistic if you could somehow miraculously attach them to the top of the head (I know, that would be very difficult, it's just a thought) BTW, I am unfamiliar with that piece on the top of the thorax, is that bionicle (If so that's pretty darn small for a specialized bionicle piece)? So, is this guy a carpenter? Quote

So, is this guy a carpenter? Thank you. :-$ I also made sure all the legs attached to the thorax as in real insects. Originally I wanted to place the antenae on top. In that case though the top might bulge out more than I'ld like, plus I couldn't think of a good way to do so. :-) I can't seem to find a part# right now. It is from the aquaraiders lobster set on the arms of the vehicle. They are also used in some of those hideously large knight action figs as an armor embelishment. Quote
