JimBee Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 Awesome interior, very retro-looking (as it should be considering it's from the 50s... ). I love those baby blue booth seats, as well as that jukebox. The exterior is a little bland, but the awning and windows do help liven it up a little. Really nice work here. Quote
Hoexbroe Posted October 26, 2012 Author Posted October 26, 2012 Hi, For the first time it has been possible to put the whole MegaMOC together, in what will be the final building-site for finishing the diorama; And it is NOT a pretty sight... So this also serves as en example and reminder that; -Although each individual part may be nice, there is NO guarantee that the whole setup will be nice too! Oh well... A lot of work is still needed, especially on greenery. A couple of BrickLink orders has still to arrive... -And I know that the blue-sky background, the cars and the minifigs all adds to the genereal impression. So I am still optimistic! There is now less than one month left before the exhibition in Barcelona. Quote
Martin_B Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 I think it's great too. Perhaps a few plants and/or trees are all that's needed to make it look just right...the long brown area between the two roads for instance would look fantastic with some flowers or an avenue of trees. Quote

Thanks! -And of course, that is why I say that much work is still needed! ;-) -And dont forget HUGE TREES ! ;-) Quote
L@go Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 What do you mean, "it's not a pretty sight"? Of course there are things to be done, but it'll be totally fantastic when you're done with it. It's a gorgeous setup and any Town fan would kill to be able to build something like that :) Quote
Wedge09 Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 (edited) Very nice diorama  In the middle of the two street what you think to put, maybe trees?? Edited October 26, 2012 by Wedge09 Quote
scottwb2010 Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 Great work Hoexbroe. The interior is absoloutly excellent. That Jukebox is amazing. Quote
Cirkit Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 That has got to be the greatest Jukebox I have ever seen :D I really like the 'checkered' floor tiles, and those tiles on the wall. The Friend's set parts work wonderfully here. Just now noticed what I'm assuming is a coat hanger, and an award's rack. The little touches make for big smiles. I've been in a shop much like this (it was for cakes, but still) and I think you've nailed the vibe of the place. Certainly shouts 'American Diner' to me. Oh, and it does look great in your little town! I wouldn't mind living there, if I were a minifig. Quote
Hoexbroe Posted November 7, 2012 Author Posted November 7, 2012 Hi all, Well, the diorama is now finished, and now I must find a way to pack it all into small boxes and transport it across half of Spain... Some more photos may be published randomly at http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=504949 -But until HispaLUG Expo 2012 finishes on 25th of November, the dorama will not be presented in full... "Kingstown" and I bid you all farewell, and see you again real soon! Quote
Vincent Kessels Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 Those are beautiful pictures. Have fun at the event! Quote
Behind the Camera Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 Great MOC! I especially love the jukebox. It really is a nice touch that no 50's diner would be complete without! Quote
The Dutch Guy Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 Thank you for these pictures. They look very promising. The schoolbus looks great and the municipal building (white one) looks interesting. Hope you will show us some more pictures, perhaps from the Expo itself. Good luck my friend. Quote
seahorsy Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 Wow this is just outstanding! top ten Lego creations I have seen! Quote
L@go Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 Spectacular! Congratulations on finally finishing it. I'm also hoping for some great shots from the event :) Quote
keeganp1234 Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Everything looks highly accurate, and you captured the Checker splash well. I dont know if anybody said this, but its also called a "Soda Fountain". Its awesome! Well done and Brick On! Quote
