Well, from what I've seen I like 2007 a lot more.

The first year a Lego theme is released, they stick to easy designs to get people to start buying the products. But the year after, the designers get more creative and make the designs like nothing you've ever seen. Example: 2006 Exo-Force was very organized, nothing too crazy or wild. But now for 2007 Exo-Force you see wild designs that look like nothing you've ever seen, like Ha-Ya-To's new mech, or the set that has the new huge vehicle and Ryo's flying mech.

I like stuff that brings your eye out to look at it more, and I think 2007 Exo-Force did a very good job with that. So I voted for 2007.

What do you guys think?

Vote and please post. :-)

2006, because the sets had a sense of completeness about them. They really hid the Knight's Kingdom parts well! I also really liked all the non-mech sets such as the Sonic Phantom (Though I'll never like that trigger on that thing), the fortress and definately the Striking Venom.

HOWEVER.

I love the first wave of 2007's offerings more than most of 2006's sets. I have much love for every single set in 2007's individual mech sets, most notably the Iron Condor, Blade Titan, Shadow Crawler and the Claw Crusher. They're works of ART. If I was a few year younger, I'd purchase the Iron Condor right off the bat. The mechs may have been skinnier, but as the Blade Titan shows, it can work. Shame that the Sky Guardian looks like the Apollo spacecraft with appendages, but I'll still buy it, gosh darn it!

Second wave that we just saw pictures of, I'm not too impressed. They're not great, but most aren't poor. Hope there's more!

I was torn. 2006 had challenging builds (In a good way), light bricks, and some good weapons. But it's stickers were the hardest to place, they were top heavy and the small ones weren't that good IMO. And when the light bricks ran out, they were almost useless.

The 2007 wave didn't offer challenging builds. They had some odd designs too. But they offered the marveolous minifigures, they were pretty well preportioned. In addition the great technic/system parts. And best of all the code bricks. They provide cool downloads and intresting info! And the boxes are shiiiiiiiiiinnnyyyyy! *wub*

So 2007 gets my vote.

??? What do you mean?

He means he wants a choice in the poll that says "neither of the years are better. Exo-force is crud," or something like that. Oh well, I expected that from a pirate fan. X-D

Me, personally, I'd say 2006. Every set that year impressed me, even the Sonic Phantom, and we got a new comic every two weeks (unlike 2007 so far). 2007's Januarry wave was good, and in many cases awesome, but summer is looking a bit down. Hayato's "mech" stinks, and the jet part of the golden tower is too much like the sonic phantom. The tank set is cool, the Golden Tower "tower" awesome, and we get a female character for the first time, but 2006 is still better, IMO.

2006 had better 'big' mechas

especially on the Robot side, they really feel massive with their big armour plates and enclosed cockpits compared to the new ones (open cockpit IronCondor)

2007 has better small mechas

nice construction methods, they have more substance to them.

2007 has 'rarer' parts, for example oldschool jet engines on SkyGuardian (must have for the jets alone!)

plus the oldschool half octagon windshield piece (Now I can build a blacktron SuperNova2 in civillian colors!)

2006 ... seems to have 'more' parts, now I might be wrong since I didnt check the part counts, but the big mecha's just feel more AlternateModel-able

on a related note, one thing that Really Dissapoints me with 2007 is that they got rid of the Alternate Models.

the 2006 alternates were awesome designs, and really added 'depth' to EF by expanding into secondary support vehicles; really gave you a motivation to buy more than one of each set!

well, thats my observations, weigh them depending on what you're looking for...

If LEGO reps do check these boards they should read that sentence again and again.

When I was a kid I wanted three Black Monarch's Castles so that I could combine the real model with two of the alternatives...
