Optimax X Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 I'm inspired to do some more space MOCs at the weekend. Quote
sam89 Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 There's a few new pics here: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Nameless...ca/p1010385.jpg The most notable new pic is the Armoured Drilling Tank. Quote
Optimax X Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 Yes, the armoured drilling unit is awsome! Quote
Brainbox Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 Yes, the armoured drilling unit is awsome! I completely agree. The way it can split into three is cool. It reminds me of something, but I can't quite think what. Quote

Optimax X Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 I have to say, this is abit pointless now, we will all start talking rubbish until they come out. Would be cool if lego set up a breif storyline or website or something to entertain us. Quote
dillthepill Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 Help me out guys. I really like the look of Mars Mission, but I am already spendin $500 on LEGO this summer, running out of room for LEGO's, and don't really want to start a new theme. Can you guys convince me why I should or shouldn't get them? Thx in advance. :-) Quote
vahkimetru Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 6-Wheeler Drilling Tank-Nice. However, I'm not a big fan opf Bionicle use in system that could use regular Technic instead of the wonky weapons and such that make sense in EXF but not really in regular space ships. Should've done this like the CTT. I'm loathing that Zamor Launcher, but the overall design and two small ships make up for its failures. Overall-8/10 Tank-tread mecha-I love this one! The set seems a bit lanky but the included ship and bricks, plus the tank treads make me want it soooo bad!!!!! Overall-9/10 Large Alien Ship-OMG! This is my favorite! The tentacles in the body, the gunners, the tail fins! Delicious! The only bad thing is the <insert that tiresome argument> launcher. Overall-10/10 Small Human Flyer-A must buy for me! This cheep set is what classic space was based around! It reminds me of the CS Space Scooters!!! Overall-10/10 More to come... Quote

You could also do this for the other themes you intend on buying. You know, you don't have to get all the sets in a theme ;-) . Quote

Thx in advance. :-) If we buy these, TLC might get the notion that Space is a marketable theme and put more effort into the next year's models... Notice how the summer ExoForce pics look a lot nicer than last years? Well that could happen with Space too. Quote
Asuka Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Well that could happen with Space too. Yep, sounds promising. Let Quote

The base doesn't look good, so forget that, and I somehow don't seem to like the Armored Drilling Unit either. The Astro Fighter is too small, the set with that small four wheeled vehicle and alien ship isn't that great. I also am not that appealed by the Recon Dropship. So I am only getting three sets: The Alien Mothership, Claw Tank Ambush, and the Trike. If we buy these, TLC might get the notion that Space is a marketable theme and put more effort into the next year's models... Notice how the summer ExoForce pics look a lot nicer than last years?Well that could happen with Space too. Yeah, I really hope this great theme undergoes a great transformation or we get another and better space theme. Quote
xenologer Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 So I am only getting three sets I dont see the Astro Fighter's size as a problem, rather, its small so I'll be buying extras :-D ... Especially if it comes with an Android minifig(from Spyrius) like some of the protoype pics show. and actually, I think the Alien Fighter/small Rover is one of the best sets in terms of potential playability. Youve got two vehicles, equally representing the human explorer(conquerer?) and the alien patrolship. I see a potential first contact situation here... who will fire the first shot? or will they try to communicate peacefully? maybe the aliens will interpret the human's drilling operation as a hostile act? yup, fun stuff. Zaktan of the Shadows Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 Wheres the jetpacks for the astronauts? Any news on the aliens moving parts (if they have any)? -ZotS Quote
Brainbox Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 Wheres the jetpacks for the astronauts? Any news on the aliens moving parts (if they have any)?-ZotS Printing can be seen on the astronauts backs here, so perhaps they won't get jetpacks as such (the one sat on the chair in the base in the bottom left). As for the aliens, I get the impression that there are no moving parts to them. But I could be wrong. Quote
Optimax X Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 Where abouts? I can't see from that picture. Quote
Brainbox Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 Where abouts? I can't see from that picture. Its the same pic that was pointed out in the 'Toy Fair 2007' thread. The large picture of the base. Start in the bottom left corner, follow the tube to the block where the other tubes start from. On top of the 'block' is an astronaut in a chair. Look at his back. Quote
Optimax X Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 Oh right. But if that's just painted on or a sticker, it's hardly a proper jet pack is it? So i'd think they did not have any. Quote
snefroe Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 Yeah- i wondered why it said "t.v" i wonder if they are planning a t.v series? X-D I sincerly hope august, then i can get them in time for my birthday or with my birthday money! :-) they'll probably just advertise the sets on tv... Quote
Brainbox Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 Yeah, but a mini-episodes TV series would be cool. And I'd rather have a proper jet-pack, but it can be easily changed. Quote

Starwars4J Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 God, (most) of those human vehicles look sweet. Thanks Sam! Quote
