Vincent Kessels Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 This is my latest Modular Building for a center piece in my layout. The Lady Tower (or in dutch Vrouwentoren) is the remaining tower of the Our-Dear-Lady chapel. The chapel was torn down in 1585. This is the front of the tower. Next are the side and back of the tower with the crooked side building. Also shown are the modules of the tower. A close up of the spire with clocks. I had to make my life difficult and made it five sided. And this is the real tower. [Flickr set] Quote
Wedge09 Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 Fantastic tower, very well detailed  Quote
lightningtiger Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 Perfection I say 'Vincent', perfection.....shape, colour and styling spot on ! Brick On 'VK' ! Quote
soccerkid6 Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 Beautiful work The shape and colorscheme are right-on The roof was worth the effort, it looks great. The little side building is neat too Quote
TheLegoDr Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 That is brilliant. Looks spot-on. The color scheme works well and the shape of the roof is fitting. I really like the top of the tower with the white detailing. All of your effort definitely paid off. Keep up the good work. Quote
Redhead1982 Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 Fantastic work and very well detailed. The five-sided roof of the tower looks great! Quote
alois Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 Great tower, it will fit very nicely with your modular buildings, I think. And why not also build the chapel? Quote
paostmo Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 Wow. The shot of it next to the Pet Shop really shows how tall it is. Very cool. Quote
harton Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Your technique is awesome. Your roof is really amazing. It smells the perfection. I love how you change the brick looking at some places. Quote
BrickPicker Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 I'm not familiar with the building, but it is a wonderful recreation nonetheless. Quote
Vincent Kessels Posted October 2, 2012 Author Posted October 2, 2012 Thanks for all the great comments! And why not also build the chapel? Because there is no chapel, not since the 16th century. Quote
L@go Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 I just have to chime in with the others: This is brilliant! The worn parts make it look more realistic. Quote
Cecilie Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 This is really nice. It's great to see some buildings that fit in with the modular standard, but adds some variety to the skyline. Quote
Vincent Kessels Posted December 23, 2012 Author Posted December 23, 2012 It took a while, but the witch finally flies! http://www.flickr.co...els/8301405690/ Quote
ER0L Posted December 26, 2012 Posted December 26, 2012 I commented on this before, but the comment was obviously deleted in the breakdown some weeks ago. Now that I have seen the real thing I may say that it even looks more awesome than on the photos. I especially love the color scheme and all those asymmetric aspects which make this building a real city landmark. The flying witch is a nice addition. Great job on this, looking forward for your future creations! Quote
