LegoGBC Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 (edited) Hi, I made a telescopic handler MOC. The original MOC wasn't supposed to be motorized, but after finishing it and playing with it a bit I noticed that it could be easily motorized without too many changes to the structure. So yes,the motorization isn't very good (the back motor is sticking out of the structure) but it works very well. The telehandler has 2 option gearbox to switch between boom lifting and boom extending. The model was built from 1 8043 set and some other pieces. and yes, I know the back has red and lime green to it...unfortunatly,these were the only colors I had for these pieces :( Video: Edited September 26, 2012 by LegoGBC Quote
Balrog Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Well, the functionality obviously is pretty good. Only thing lacking would be the design. But that's no offense and due to limitations of the collection. But who am I to say something like that ;) Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 (edited) I think it is beast that you leave the motors in it.this makes it look slightly better..... It's beast I say nothing about the styling. But well done on making another moc. Edited September 26, 2012 by Alasdair Ryan Quote
Balrog Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Like I said ... who am I to judge it. Look at the thread I made and you'll see what I mean. Quote
LegoGBC Posted September 26, 2012 Author Posted September 26, 2012 (edited) I thought that set had motors in it that you could use to motorize it........ It's beast I say nothing about the styling. But well done on making another moc. I wanted to make something that isn't motorized...but I couldn't handel the temptation to motorize it :D Styling...well I have no idea what im doing with this part...Im having a really hard time with it - I simply can't think about how to make a model look good. well,I hope it comes with the experience :D Edited September 26, 2012 by LegoGBC Quote
Balrog Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Before my dark ages, there was only the old technic stuff. Liftarms were just a good bit away. After I have returned, I for myself still am not comfortable with them. So for me, the next step is to get one or two of the larger models and build them to see, how the new style works and then experiment a lot. Further, the bigger models give a lot of pieces of course ;) Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 I made a teletruck with no motors in it...........Link Quote

drdesignz Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Cool design I built the Unimog recently. It's a great model and excellent for customization. It's also nice for the parts and it's a relatively good price too. You will not be disappointed, I'm sure. Quote

Good to hear :) the only downside on the unimog for me is the panels - I want to keep my collection at yellow for now,and not to start mixing between colors (I have a very limited budget)... Well,I'll probably get the unimog anyway. so many pieces :D Quote

They should have stuck to 1 or 2 color schemes, plan on modifying mine with a black bed and fenders from spare parts I have on hand...also it should have had a rear bumper of some sort with the 3 different trans-clear red, orange and clear 1x1 round lights instead of just 2 trans-clear 1x1 round red lights stuck in the holes in the tailgate...just my 2 cents worth...
