Our LUG "Palikkatakomo" had a summer competition. Only rules were that the MOC should relate to summer some way and size maximum 32x32 studs.

I had this beach image in my head for a long time.

It all started with a wave and a surfer:

"Bill is a novice surfer and finally catches a good wave, unfortunately rock pier is closing way too fast."

Rest of the beach needed some action:

"The Pattersons are just arriving, Gloria and her daughter Fiona investigating a crayfish. Joe jr and Joe sr with the ball and mrs Joe enjoying the sun on her towel."

"Senior lifeguard David Leghoff in his tower watching over everything.

Junior lifeguard G.T. rushing to the pier anticipating problems in the water.

Kite surfer James in trouble with a strong gust of wind, exiting the picture soon."

But all the time I wanted to do something under water too:

"Big brother Mac have noticed a suspicious shadow underwater and shouts an alarm. Brother Don hurries out of the water."

"Diver William feels that he is on top of the food chain while harpooning the fish... how wrong can he be."

I had a lot of fun planning this MOC listening Beach Boys music :) Building was done in bit of hurry but I made the deadline for the competition.

I was really happy to hear this evening that this MOC won the comp so hopefully you enjoy it too, thanks for viewing.

That wave is awesome! great scene, all the figs look like they're enjoying their last days of summer. The base is really cool, with the look under the water.

All those 'brick' bricks. :oh:

Thank you for comments. It seems that people "down under" can better relate to this image and colors.

I myself am happy with the color of the sea which was based on white plates under trans blue. Most energy in thinking was used in deciding how to make the change between above and under waterline. Adding PF lights under water made the trick, ok its bit too dark under there based on depth but ok in my opinion.
