If you have seen this video:

I have promised you a bigger track layout - it will happen on 11-05-13, where I and the Danish LUG (Byggepladen) will improve the current Guinness Record.

The current record is 2.221,51 - we will make more than 3.000 meters of the old blue tracks.

More will follow...

Regards

Henrik

It is a pity in a way that you cannot actually make the track go 3Km (Or whatever.) from one town or village to another. Actually having a LEGO train travelling between two real places and breaking the record would be really good. I did watch a programme in the UK last year where they had a model train (I think OO/HO Gauge) running between two towns in Devon, that was almost unbelievable but they did it. Anyway, a really good project regardless and I wish you all the best and cannot wait to see the images and video from it. Good luck!!

I forgot something - the track was designed by another member of the Danish LUG byggepladen. His name is Svend E. Sørensen.

In my civil life I would call it a draft - in LEGO language it is WIP.

It is not the final result !

Yes, Henrik and I are currently in planning of the design. And this is a WIP. Next draft might be ready this weekend or after Lego Fan Weekend, also this weekend :)

But we have some to go, before final design are ready.

This is the new layout for the Record attempt:

final.jpg

This layout will be done on the 10-05-2013/12-05-2013 in Denmark - Broby Sportsefterskole www.nbfe.dk be my and the Danish LUG Byggepladen. It will be open for public on Saturday 11-05-2013 between 9.00 - 16.00.

The length ? - it is 4.000,25 meters or 13,124.17 feet.

We will apply for a Guinness World Record for this - the current record is 2.221,51 meter (it is not made of LEGO).

The layout is build only of the old blue tracks and white sleepers. We will use more than 90.000 tracks and sleepers (for ex. we are using 520 Crosstracks).

At the same time we will present every trainset, station, wagons, tracktypes, monorail etc. - there will be a complete exhibition of every train related stuff LEGO ever made since they started producing toys.

We will try to stream it live on a webpage - more will follow.

If you want more information - just email me at hl@gl.org

Have a nice weekend

Henrik

WOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWW! I just stumbled on this thread and the video!

I cannot stress howmuch I *love* this. The idea, the dedication, the location, the people,

the 4,5Volts engine, everything!

I hope for the next record that you guys could make a time-laps clip on the building

process and a few more shots of locs and trains riding the track.

good luck on the next attempt!
