RoyalBrickCustoms Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Hey guys I just had a couple of questions regarding creating cloth accesories for custom LEGO minifigs. 1. Can [Does] felt work well for creating waistcoats and kamas? 2. If the answer to the first question is 'yes', then, can you paint felt! Please respond ASAP. :) Thanks, ~ Jake Burklin Quote
LuxorV Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Check this post. It should include useful info, though it suggests a material other than felt. Quote

Although that link was helpful I was actually wondering if felt is too thick to use for custom minifigs (I like the texture and feel of the felt, at least for what I'm planning to make.) Thanks again, ~ Jake Burklin Quote
Darkdragon Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Yes in general, felt is going to be too thick for use as clothing in minifigs scale. Quote

Henchmen4Hire Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 I think felt is too fuzzy, it'll start to deteriorate and leave hairs everywhere, then again I'm not sure what you need it for. If you can, head to Walmart and look through their rolls of fabic, there's some thin fabric that would work great. The only thing is you have to spray it with starch or watered down glue to add stiffness and prevent the edges from fraying. Quote
