Legonardo Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 (edited) Hey guys! here is my latest freebuild, an Avalonian tower. this is for the LOB micro fortress contest. enjoy! EDIT: second entry added, less Avalonian this time Enjoy! ~Legonardo Edited September 26, 2012 by Legonardo Quote
Ecclesiastes Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 Great work on the tower L! But I'm not sure about the landscaping, the trees with the bandana's are working fine. But the key and the pistol are making it messy for me. I really like this kind of creativity, but in this case, for me it's a bit of an overload. Quote
soccerkid6 Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 Excellent microscale tower I like the flag on the top especially Quote
Legonardo Posted September 10, 2012 Author Posted September 10, 2012 Thanks guys! I have to agree with you ecc on the key, I wasn't sure about it but thought I'd leave it in anyway. the pistol however I thought looked quite good. anyway glad you like it/ ~Legonardo Quote
Derfel Cadarn Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 You really have gone from strength to strength with your building. I've seen a lot of great stuff from you recently and it's good to see you constantly improving and trying new ideas. This is a great moc and looks spot on. I love the use of the technic cog for the tower, perfect! Quote

There are some hits and misses in this build, but overall the look is really nice and abstract as others have said. Quote
NiceMarmot Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Great job! Very experimental and creative. Some of the landscaping works better than the rest for me, but kudos for trying a bunch of stuff. The tower, however, is spot on; you really nailed it! Quote
Kai NRG Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Great job, especailly the way you used technic pieces on the tower! Personally, I'm not too much of a fan of using chains for landscaping, but it looks great here. Also love the flag on top! Quote
Mike S Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Abstract :) originall ;) As Angeli said, I think this is more abstract and not meant to be studied in detail. When you first glance at it, it looks like an birds eye view of a woodland tower (how I imagine you meant it to be) with the textures and colors blurring together to form nature's random charm. So all in all, I think this is a wonderful little Lego creation! Quote
Legonardo Posted September 26, 2012 Author Posted September 26, 2012 Hey all, my second entry is up (decided it didn't need another topic), this one I intend to build again at 8X the current scale enjoy C&C welcome ~Dangerous Quote
soccerkid6 Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Excellent micro tower, I'm sure it will look great full size Quote
PsyKater Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Very nice microbuilds. Can't tell if it is real or CG. So, nice photography and photo editing, I guess. Quote
mephistopheles Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 I love these microscale works. Great job! Quote
Gabe Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 Sorry it's taken me so long to get around to commenting on these beauties Legonardo! I have to say i'm really enjoying your emerging style with these microscales - they feel very impressionistic. I like the fact that as a viewer you both instantly recognise what they are meant to be, but also can find surprising elements within the composition. The presentation is great too, especially the muted, washed out tones in the stronghold one. Great stuff! Quote
