zergu Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 (edited) hi, this is my latest lego custom.. this time i focused more on micro builds. some parts are shamelessly imitated from Skrytsson's Japanese Teahouse MOC http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=73560 - hi Skrytsson i truly admire ur MOC and hope you'll be ok with my sincerest form of flattery :) thanks for viewing and hope u like the details i put in.. all c&c welcome a 'torii' gate marks an entrance.. a transition from profane to sacred small lanterns along the path to the shrine small island with tree and vegetation a 'taiko' drum in front of the shrine the samurai shrine Edited September 7, 2012 by zergu Quote

Henchmen4Hire Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 There are only so many ways you can build a specific style of building with a finite set of bricks, so there's no need to be apologetic lol I think the water could use work, but cool build otherwise. Makes me want to build a little shack for the few ninjas I have floating around. Quote
Ferrik Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 This MOC looks great. The little gold studs hanging from the roof and the gate both create an excellent effect. Quote
soccerkid6 Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Excellent work! The building itself is great and the landscaping sets it off nicely The little details like the lanterns, drum, and light brick add a lot too Quote
zergu Posted September 8, 2012 Author Posted September 8, 2012 Nic eMOC, your asian style is getting pretty good1 keep it up. ~Legoanrdo thanks legonardo! i'm still pretty hooked on asian style, might do one more soon :) There are only so many ways you can build a specific style of building with a finite set of bricks, so there's no need to be apologetic lol I think the water could use work, but cool build otherwise. Makes me want to build a little shack for the few ninjas I have floating around. thanks! yup the water needs more work.. probably some transitions from blue-lightblue-white would have helped :) This MOC looks great. The little gold studs hanging from the roof and the gate both create an excellent effect. thanks and glad you noticed those details! sometimes details can be so minor and we wonder whether its worth having them at all.. instead of using the same bricks elsewhere Excellent work! The building itself is great and the landscaping sets it off nicely The little details like the lanterns, drum, and light brick add a lot too thank you! glad you liked those small little details, makes having them worthwhile :) Quote
TenorPenny Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 I particularly like the interior. Simple but classic. Quote
Corydoras Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Whoa, pretty cool! I like the torii and the use of light brick. Interesting technique on the ladder. Quote
Kai NRG Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Nice MOC, especailly with the top of the Shirine and the island next to it! It might be a good idea to put a couple trans-yellow round (or otherwise) plates on the lanterns though! Quote
