Jareth Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Breed your own giant mantises in 29 easy steps! This folder is private for now, but I wanted to post it as soon as possible, and I didn't see a reason to make such a picture heavy post for something most people wouldn't want. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=511708 Anyway, the only unusual parts are the eyes. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogPG.asp?P=298c03&colorID=3 Which are control lever bases. And the legs which are wizard's staffs from brickforge http://www.brickforge.com/store/product.php?productid=16482&cat=314&page=2 Quote
Henchmen4Hire Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 (edited) Nice usage and great that you kept a bunch of articulation I'd change those legs though, lack of articulation Edited September 7, 2012 by DrNightmare Quote
Shadows Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Very nicely done, a marvel of science! *awaits your army of mantis men* Quote
Jareth Posted September 7, 2012 Author Posted September 7, 2012 @ Dr. Nightmare, Thanks! I may change the legs for more articulation (And stability) But one of my main goals was to use those wizard's staffs as legs becuase they have such a great organic look to them. Of course the coloration is another limitation. I may have to special order click hinges in green. @ shadows. Hmm, I can't watch the video on Internet explorer, but I can on firefox. If anyone else sees this I'd recomend listening to the video. Quote
