I am new to posting on this forum so please excuse me if the question has previosly been asked or comes across a bit dumb.

After many years of my old Technic sets being stored in the loft, I introduced my daughter to Lego Friends and the bug started to hit me.

I recently started to collect some new (and some not so new) sets in the Technic, Model Team and Creator ranges.

For all of the "used" sets I purchased I was able to download a list and check them off, but a couple I have got have been "opened" boxes but the packs inside are still sealed.

My question is, is there anywhere that you can look to see how many packs there would have originally been in the set. The most recent set I got, at a bargain price on ebay, has come in this way but other than opening the packs and counting all of the bricks I have no way of checking if everything is there. This particular set was 5893 - Creator Off Road Power but it probably wont be the last.

My only other thought was to email LEGO direct to see if they can tell me from their records.

If anybody has any ideas I would be greatful.

Only in the newest sets the instructions show how many bags there are afaik.

Really?

As far as I know, it is only shown which numbers the bags have and which submodels are built from each number. How many bags have a certain number, is not mentioned, and nothing is known for sets whose bags are not numbered (as it the case with many Technic, Creator, Architecture and UCS sets).
