LegoSjaak Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 Hello Eurobrickers... i collected 5 Town House 4954 sets in the last few years.. Now i want to make my first moc....so my question is, what to do with those 5 sets... I would like to make one big building... Maybe anyone has done this already.. ? If someone has some nice ideas for a tan-coloured building with black roofing and white windows???? Hope to hear from you!! (Or see pictures to inspire me...) Greetz, LegoSjaak Quote
The Cobra Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 Have you considered starting from the roof? You have a lot of slopes there, including angled slopes. The shape of your house could be more original than a square or a rectangle. And, when you look for inspiration for houses to build, just look around yourself, or you might see something interesting in a movie or TV show or anime. Maybe you can find different worth adding to your MOC in different sources, and the put it all together. Quote
alois Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 (edited) In this MOC of mine (I mean the tan town hall), there are a lot of pieces of set 4954. By the way, good to see you're starting your first MOC ! I'd love to see the result when all the sets you have will be gone and transformed into great MOCS! Edited August 28, 2012 by alois Quote

Redhead1982 Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 Honestly, I'd suggest building a large house out of 4 sets, and give/sell the 5th to me. I feel slightly jelous, as I missed that set (went out before I came out of the closet as LEGO (fan)). ... i collected 5 Town House 4954 sets in the last few years.. Seriously though, the Cobra's suggestion to start from the roof sounds great. Most definitely, you should avoid 'rectangular' shape and try something different. If I had your 4954's, I'd play with different orientation of individual sets, to come up with something different...maybe try a central part of a house with two wings on a side. If you take two of the hosues and position them perpendicular to each other, and then add the other two in the same position, but mirrored to form something similar to the letter 'U' up-side down. In that case, you're left with an extra set, to fill the gaps with or... Hope this gave you an idea of what to do, if not, just start some random building and enjoy it! Quote

Hmm..i'm getting more and more inspired.... As i live in Holland, there are a lot of old and historical buildings that are worth copying in Lego. Just 100 meters from my home lives Angus Young, the famous guitarplayer from the australian Rockband AC/DC and this house is also a bit in Tan-colour...maybe i copy this one... First i have to get the 5 models out of my layout..... will try that tomorrow... and the 5 garages...ofcourse..and then start with something.... Thanks for inspiring me! Quote
