Asuka Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 You did a very good job! *y* I love your room interior, I Quote
Capn Frank Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 Mrts, I won't ever be troubled by looking at those great mocs!!!!!! I love that stained glass window! This "Room Interior" is my favorite. There are A LOT of great details all over the place. Great job on all of those MOCs. BTW What's CCC4? I've never heard of that before. Quote
mrts Posted December 23, 2006 Author Posted December 23, 2006 BTW What's CCC4? I've never heard of that before. CCC4 stands for Colossal Castle Contest 4. here you can find more info: http://www.classic-castle.com/events/conte...t4/contest.html And thank you all for the nice replies! I'm happy everyone likes it. :-) Quote
gylman Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 Jeez, hard to believe you never entered one of these contests before. Your three biggest entries - the interior, battle scene, and medieval life - are the best in each group so far IMHO. At this point you will be taking home the grand prize for sure. Your interior, especially, as I have said before, is one of the best I have ever seen. You have my admiration. Gyl Quote
Berry Syedow Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 I just wanted to add my admiration for work. You seem to have a great knack for color coordination and overall aesthetic pleasantness. You also know how to really stretch the brick so to speak. I wish you luck in the CCCIV. *y* The Castle Attack and the Slice of Medieval life are my favorites because you manage to capture so much life and spirit within a limited space, but at the same time you manage to prevent them from looking sloppy. The Room Interior is also very beautiful. (Coming from someone who doesn Quote
mrts Posted December 25, 2006 Author Posted December 25, 2006 Jeez, hard to believe you never entered one of these contests before. Well, i never heard of the whole lego community about a year ago. When i was a kid i played with nothing else than Lego. But when entered puberty i put everything in a closet. Recently (2005) i re-discovered LEGO. At first i just wanted to collect all LEGO sets. But then i also wanted to start building again, and more and more started to discover the LEGO community. I just found bricklink about half a year ago and only found this forum, brickshelf and the Classic Castle sites recently. I was very excited about this contest. Do you know of any other contests that are being held, besides this one? These do not have to be contests related to castle. I also like city and pirates for example. Which category do you hope to win the most, by the way? I hope to win the Battlse Scene category (with the castle siege) or the Interior category. These categories have the most interesting prizes i think. But i would be happy to win anything. Quote
Brick Miner Posted December 25, 2006 Posted December 25, 2006 wow, i can't believe i almost miss this !!! this is some impressive work... the street scene is fantastic (my favorite), and i love the cabinet's details in the interior scene (and i love those two big RARE yellow shutters). i agree with syedow, you seem to have a great knack for color coordination and overall aesthetic pleasantness. there is not one area that feels "neglected". and "big gray wall syndrome" is as far from your castle MOC as can be. im not sure how you do it... congrats !!! though i love the castle, the battle scene is my least favorite. though, this is probably just personal preference (i've not seen too many battle scenes i do like). have you ever tried to build stand-alone "sets" (i.e. not scenes). id love to see you try a LEGO-ish building style, as it has my favor. i haven't seen any of the other entries, but i can't imagine they could be much better than these !!! - BrickMiner Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 I love the detail. Outstanding! Nice use of the sherpa hat for the queen's hair/hair piece (very Adventurous). Quote

mrts Posted December 26, 2006 Author Posted December 26, 2006 again thanks for the nice replies! :-$ I'm not sure about which battle scene you talk about Brick Miner, i made 2 you see. 1) A battle scene inside a castle, a riot. (this entry became a misc entry because the battle scene had to be outside) 2) The castle siege, outside. (this is my real battle scene entry) So which one were you refering to? About the hair. When i put it on a minifig head i immediatly thought of my queen (queen beatrix), so i used as hair for the queen :-P : Quote

DARKspawn Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 Very nice. Your Medieval Life & Interior entries are my favorites. They are also 2 of the 3 catagories in which our entries clash & I am not afraid to say that they are going to be hard to beat :) I too am new to the online community & this is also the first comp I have competed in & understand how demanding this contest is ... very! I will have to post up my entries when I am finished the final one in a couple of days. Good luck in the comp! If you guys are interested you can check out the other entries on this page at Classic-Castle :) Quote
blueandwhite Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 Wonderful stuff. These days, I feel as if my old age is truly catching up with me. I'm seeing so many amazing MOCs that I can't possibly keep up with the new and ever-improving talent that keeps popping up. Your building style is impressive as it preserves a set-like aesthetic that I can never quite manage in my MOCs. the designs are clean, and well thought-out. In fact, I find it very difficult to put forward a legitimate criticism of any of your MOCs. While your MOCs might not be at the level of some of the very best masters (IMO), they are certainly something to aspire to. And, as others have said, I think you've got a real shot in this contest. Your MOCs are near the top in every category you've entered. Again, congratulations on some fantastic work *yoda* . Later. Quote
mrts Posted December 28, 2006 Author Posted December 28, 2006 Thanks again! @blueandwhite: i agree with you. I cirtainly am not a master builder, yet ;-). I hope to be one one day, but i doubt i will ever reach that Quote
Sir Dillon Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 These are some beautiful entries you've made, mrts. :-) I think my favorite is the midieval life entry; I love all the detail you've put into it. BTW, did you see that it was put on the front page of CC? Good luck! Quote
