Henchmen4Hire Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 (edited) Finally finished something and brick-built it. Feels good, especially because I had all the parts needed in the ol' LEGO box so it cost me exactly zero dollars. This is that suave yellow fellow's ride, it has an electrical theme, capable of discharging massively power bolts of electricity that'll fry any other ship's components! They burn away insulation, melt through metal, and turn pilots into crispy chicken. I'll eventually replace the blue fire with blue electricity when I can find it cheap. I apologize for the shameless bikini shot, I promise you I was totally uncomfortable building that figure And a few more angles: Forgot to show all the trans blue/lightblue under the big wedges in back, I'll show a construction shot later. Also: Woo-hoo! SP3 blaster tag! Finally, my life is complete. Edited August 18, 2012 by DrNightmare Quote
DraikNova Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Well, it's awesome, but here's some advice: electricity pieces don't look so good as they aren't streamlined and would disrupt the vehicle's "flow" and the trans purple would disrupt the colorscheme. Quote
soccerkid6 Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Very cool ship The color scheme works very well with the fig and I like fins on the back Quote
Bighappysmiles Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 That is very cool! It really looks good! Your figure looks great with it. It would be cool if you built a whole series of ships and stuff to go with your figure. Quote
-zenn Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Pit stop girls... They always seem to draw my attention. Like the part combo's on her, did you tac/glue it on? Quote
Henchmen4Hire Posted August 18, 2012 Author Posted August 18, 2012 Well, it's awesome, but here's some advice: electricity pieces don't look so good as they aren't streamlined and would disrupt the vehicle's "flow" and the trans purple would disrupt the colorscheme. Here's what I'm aiming for: I don't mind the purple bits in the lightning, I like purple And if the purple is just clear paint over the light blue, could just wipe it way with some acetone. Very cool ship The color scheme works very well with the fig and I like fins on the back Those fins were a last minute bit of inspiration, but I think they would work great as cooling fins Just need to add a sticker with some grill detail maybe. I'll try brickbuilding them but I think then they'd look too fat. That is very cool! It really looks good! Your figure looks great with it. It would be cool if you built a whole series of ships and stuff to go with your figure. I'm trying to diversify my ships, so though I'll keep making little ships for my figs I probably won't be making another one with this exact theme Pit stop girls... They always seem to draw my attention. Like the part combo's on her, did you tac/glue it on? Yep, I use little dots of plain white glue. It's holds parts together well (they won't fall apart just by everyday handling) and you can easily peel it off without damaging the parts when you want to take them apart. Quote
Henchmen4Hire Posted August 19, 2012 Author Posted August 19, 2012 Some more shots Simple sturdy construction, could replace the two red plates and 1x2 grey in back with a 1x1 brick with stud for a more secure connection to the side panels though. The voltaic core bursting with raw energy The little thing in back can detach for remote controlled recon. How it looks with the big back panels flipped around Quote
DraikNova Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 (edited) I don't mind purple either (as a matter of fact I'm always looking for it, both trans and non-trans), but I think it would disrupt the color scheme a lot. And I don't think the purple is a separate layer. Edited August 19, 2012 by DraikNova Quote
Wedge09 Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Great work, personally I prefer blu to purple for the lightining Quote
Si-MOCs Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Nice build! I'm really liking that black/yellow/trans-blue colour scheme! I really liked how you added the little trans blue accents - form the fire to the dots.\ My only complaint is the lack of cockpit... for some reason something this size feels like it should have a cockipt... but still really Also: Woo-hoo! SP3 blaster tag! Finally, my life is complete. Now don't point that thing at anyone's eyes now! Quote
