Section8 Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 I found this on the Lego Main Page: Lego Factory Hobby Trains Looks like Lego is going to cater to us hobby rail fans for a little while longer, and I can't find the RC trains anywhere on the US S@H site. Most of the 9V stuff is sold out or backordered on the site, but then again many other sets are due to holiday demand. However, the RC rails are only in the hard to find section, not the trains section. I downloaded the train template and checked it out, they supply a motor in the base design of the set, which resembles the RC motor, but no way of powering it. So has RC trains flopped, or are they just pushing the old 9V stuff to clear out their inventory? Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 I just stumbled upon this section of LSAH as well. Advertised under Products. This looks like it's just part of Lego Factory though. One can buy sets that other fans designed. This isn't exactly what I was expecting. I thought Lego would just continue to offer detailed sets like the SFSC and the BNSF. Quote
Brick Miner Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 yes, i remember us discussing the future of the 9V system... and i swear i read an official statement from a LEGO rep saying it would surely continue along side of the RC system. 9V would continue on as "hobby trains". i hope this isn't what they had in mind :-X however, AquaRaiders has proven that LEGO will use the same name for different themes and products... maybe this factory extension IS "hobby trains" and so is the yet-to-be-released 9V line continuation. hmmmm - BrickMiner Quote
