Henchmen4Hire Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 (edited) When released I thought the new Alien Conquest guns looked kinda dumb, but they look really cool once you tweak them. Here are some guns I built in an attempt to use up spare parts and specialize each figure's weapon a little more. First some more Space Police 3 action though haha. This is a nifty common handgun carried by almost every SP3 officer. The standard ammunition consists of green tranquilizer bolts that incapacitate the target's entire body within seconds. Red ammo packs are good old fashioned lethal lead, with mercury and chickenpox mixed in just for kicks. Here's a sniper rifle and flamethrower because everyone loves sniper rifles and flamethrowers Some more stuff including a gatling gun, high-yield explosive, trainee pistol, shotgun, riot shield and electric people-prod And now random guns I thought looked cool. As always, feel free to use any of these designs, no credit necessary. The the upper left weapon is a Sonic Gun, great way to use up those clear dishes! Another SP3 handgun in there, this time loaded with explosive ammunition. The yellow ammo is electrified, effective against machinery and its sensitive electronics. just2good Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 They look nice! I love building brick built firearms. It is nice to see someone else who likes to build them too. Quote
DraikNova Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 Well, good idea. The first one is interestingly built, but doesn't have enough "awesome" in it's design. The next two have more awesome while retaining a good build. However, of the next few I only like the one in the third picture. The next couple are great, while my favorites are the first, the third-to-last and the last ones. I've got an idea for a well-modifiable heavy laser, of which I might post some pictures soon. Quote
soccerkid6 Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 Nice to see some brick-built guns I like the different varieties you made, my favorite is the one in the bottom pic on the right Quote
Henchmen4Hire Posted August 16, 2012 Author Posted August 16, 2012 (edited) Thanks folks, I built even more gunzzzzz! Some are junkers, some are man-stoppers, some can shoot down helicopters, all found in the latest police raid. I angled the grip on some of them to give them "extra cool" Sorry for the crappy picture, had to turn the ISO all the way up since I didn't want to take out the tripod lol Edited August 16, 2012 by DrNightmare Quote
DraikNova Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 They all look awesome. The top left one looks like a sniper rifle. Quote
Bighappysmiles Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 These are all great! I always find the lego firearms are kinda lame. That's something m%g^ bl&cks actually does better than lego, the weapons (would never buy one of the sets for them though =P). These brick built weapons I like because they do look better than the regular Lego weapons. I also like that they are built with fairly common peices aswell! Quote
Henchmen4Hire Posted August 18, 2012 Author Posted August 18, 2012 Thankss! I'm pretty happy with them too, all you need is some rods of various lengths and start clipping and sliding things onto them and see what you can come up with. I recommend you buy a bunch of long bars/rods off bricklink for dirt cheap, then just snip them to whatever length you need. You can make like 2 to 4 guns out of one of the longer bars (6L?) depending on the designs. Yep, MB has a lot of great ideas and useful pieces, not sure why they aren't liked more. Quote
Pilotdude20 Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 I really like the yellow one in your most recent picture, did you snip rods for that one? (I have a website I would like to feature it on but it is a purist site) Quote
Henchmen4Hire Posted August 18, 2012 Author Posted August 18, 2012 (edited) I snipped the little clip on the end of the "grip", it was this piece After I snip anything I sand the snipped end a little bit to make it look like the original, I just forgot to do it for that one, oops! As a side note, the little clip works great on its own as a scope mount or rail attachment I could post a pic of it with a fresh version of the piece, but it looks kinda weird with the clip to be honest Edited August 18, 2012 by DrNightmare Quote

Si-MOCs Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Some interesting blasters you got there mr. blaster master. I've seen some of those tricks done before, but some are new! Nice job. I also like how you changed up some minifig heads :) Quote
Henchmen4Hire Posted May 5, 2013 Author Posted May 5, 2013 Lol thanks! Going to order a few nozzle pieces to make sidearms for my Blacktron troops, very simple ideas Quote
DraikNova Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Most of them don't have a good transition between the "main" part of the blaster and the add-ons. The one on the bottom-left is one of the two that doesn't really have this problem, and I think this one looks best. Quote
Henchmen4Hire Posted May 5, 2013 Author Posted May 5, 2013 Really? I think the bottom-left one is the ugliest lol When I get them I'm going to push the technic pins in more so that the slots slide past the trigger on the nozzle, might help with the shape a little. The ones with the ribbed part and clips I need to make by hand because it can't be done in LDD, I just positioned them so they moreorless resemble what they should look like. I'm sure they'll look cool once made, and if not then they get reused for robot parts lol Quote
Darkdragon Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 There are some great designs in here. It's a great purist way to add some variety to a squad. I like the colors added to some of them, team based weapon paint. Quote
