Hi guys; I hope I'm posting this in the right area.

Now, I've noticed that the minifig quality has been slipping a bit with the arms of sand green minifigues developing more or less large cracks rather easily: first, I saw that one of the arms of a Endor rebel soldier from this year's 9489 Endor Rebel Trooper & Imperial Trooper Battle Pack which I got has gotten a crack in it without I having stressed it or been fiddling around with it. Just a while ago, I noticed the same with one of the arms on the Shire variant of Frodo from 9469 Gandalf Arrives which was a set I got just about a week ago.

Has anyone else had this problem with the minifigs with sand green arms (or another color)?; I think it's starting to look a bit worrisome.

This has happened to my sand green arms as well. I remember Bionicle fans recognized a while back that the lime green colour was more brittle than other colours.

Hmm...I'll have to check my Frodo.

While I haven't had any issues I've read about *knock on wood* on here, it's disheartening to hear of all these quality issues... :cry_sad: Whether it be LotR, Monster Fighters, Superheroes, whatever...

That was an issue that was quickly resolved, and not something Lego was willing to repeat again.

I had this problem once and I have been extra careful with sand green parts since then. It was Fantasy Era orc torso, and I have noticed that the arms are harder to remove from them than from other minifigs. The minifigure of mine that cracked was likely from 2008 or 2009. I hadn't heard of this happening to other FOLs before, though.

I don't think I own a pair of sand green arms that haven't cracked but this may just be bad luck. I also find that white arms and light flesh crack easily. It must be a chemical that's added or omitted for the colour.

Here's a bit of an update: Today, the torso of said Frodo minifig developed a crack in it, going from the bottom and almost up to the arm socket so there definitely is a problem with sand green minifig arms and even torsos. I think I will contact customer service soon.

Did you remove hands and put them or different hands back in? Was it just one day he was fine, the next...crack?

Nope, no removal of hands or arms. I did see the beginning of the torso crack when I first noticed the crack in the arm (there seemed to be a slight rupturing mark one the side of the torso but I honestly didn't think it would actually develop more and finally create a complete crack).

In short, the sand green minifigure plastic is definitely not as strong as the other types of plastic used for minifigures so I'd recommend you guys to keep an eye out for your collection of minifigures with sand green parts, just in case there would be any crackage.

That's a bummer. I hope this doesn't plague that B-E-A-utiful Olive Green of the Dino line... :cry_sad:

Now that it's mentioned, I've managed to destroy one of my sand green Fantasty Era orc arms trying to get it out of its socket - hasn't happened before or since with any other type of arm, but I don't think I've tried it with any orcs besides that one.

Well, it's always possible that such an issue has appeared again. The best solution is for people afflicted by this issue to contact customer service. That way, not only will they get replacements, but Lego will become aware of the problem and be able to fix it faster.

:cry_sad: Great. Now you have me worried about all mine sitting in boxes in a storage locker.

I contacted customer service today by mail and told them about the crackage problem and I recived the usual mail where they state that they'll send me a replacment piece (the torso). I hope they'll look into this sand green issue soon.
