I am sorry if this is not suitable for Eurobricks, and certainly not this subforum, but I was unable to post in the Buy, Sell, Trade subforums and not sure where else to get advice.

Anyway, I have bought these two items from a seller who from their high level of reputation, seems to be pretty trustworthy and safe.

After recieving the invoice, my total came up to £11.80 so I paid it as normal. I also recieved what seems to be an automatic email explaining they it would be dispatched in within 48 hours but still, it has been 4 days and I have recieved no indication of it being dispatched.

So I decided to email asking if anything was wrong, and after waiting a day and so, I have still not recieved any reply. Perhaps they are busy, but I am pretty worried as when I checked their negetive feedback, there seemed to be lots of people who had the same problem of poor communication and ignoring of any questions they had. I sent another email to the seller about this just now, and hoping they could clarify what happened. I will now wait for the reply, but if nothing happens, what should I do, with the seller seemingly ignoring my messages?

I am a regular seller on ebay. It could be simply that whoever processes these is on holiday/away for a few days, or they have dispatched it but have not updated the transaction on ebay. I would wait a whole week, if nothing has happened then I would go through the formal ebay channels of complaint. They can reimburse your money should there be a case to do so.

About the feedback, you are no longer allowed to give negative feedback I think (as a seller this is the case, not sure about as a buyer), meaning that people might have 'positive' feedback, when this is actually not the case. However, I have looked at the feeback for your seller, and I don't think you have a problem. They are a PowerSeller and I would be extremely surprised if they were not legit.

Don't worry about it too much, I as a seller have had plenty of people completely ignore me and refuse to pay etc, ebay have sorted them out for me and made sure I wasn't out of pocket and they will do the same for you. I am sure there will be a reasonable explanation- they may have forgotten the listing, internet might be down etc, so whilst you may not have the perfect businesslike transaction you were hoping for, I am sure it will be sorted out for you anyway!

Let me know how it goes

As long as you don't go over the maximum allowed days that you are allowed to dispute the sale, then I would wait it out a bit further. If you have received nothing within a reasonable amount of time that it should have arrived, then file a claim. I'm confident you shouldn't have trouble getting your money back if the seller sent you nothing.

As was mentioned, some sellers are just not good at communicating with their buyers, especially if they sell a lot of things on ebay.

I've run into a few high rated sellers with slow ship times and poor, or no, communication. If you really want to push for a response, you can open up a case. That way you'll already have the "buyer protection" process started if you end up not ever getting the item(s) and leave it open until item arrives. Should the item arrive , just close the case with "I received item" selection. There will be no negative action taken when resolved and closed. They are required to respond within 48 hours, I think default_classic.gif

Negative feedback is not allowed?

Sellers cannot leave NEG feedback anymore, only p.o.ed buyers default_classic.gif

Which is EXTREMELY annoying when as a seller you get charged for the listing fees etc, and have to fight for them back over a process which takes weeks! I have 2/3 of these instances a week, and I can't relist the product until the case is closed

Okay, thank you for all of your advice. Just out of curiousity, when do you think it would be suitable to open a case? It has been quite awhile (since 26th July) since I paid for the item, but no notification of dispatchal, or actully recieving the item has occured.

Wow, that's terrible. If I didn't know better, I'd think that ebay and Paypal had made a secret "let's harass all sellers as much as we can" club. :hmpf:

Since there is some good conversation and advise going back and forth I'll leave this open.

I'd like to remind you and our community that we cannot help you with seller/buyer disputes on eBay since we are not eBay.

I've also updated your title so it is more clear that this is an eBay issue and not a Eurobricks issue.

I'm a regular seller on eBay, and what I've found is you usually just need to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Not all sellers update the tracking information and mark it as shipped on eBay, shipping it out with no indication to the buyer at all.

I say give it 1-1 and a half more weeks. If by then you've received your item, it's all good. If you haven't, and the seller still hasn't responded, open up a case.

You'll win it easily and get your money back considering the seller has given no tracking # and has also not "marked it as shipped".

I'd keep up a nice barrage of messages to the seller, 1 every two days or so. Then on the 10th or so day, write a message giving them a 24 hour warning otherwise you are opening a case.

Hope this helps!

I would give it until Friday, that being over a week, then leave them a message stating that if you don't hear from them by a certain date, you will open up a case (do it nicely but firmly), then if say by Monday you have not heard anything, then I would open said case.

Just my opinion though
