Am I the only one who gets bothered at the discrepancy in the scale between the different technic sets?

For instance, lets take a technic figure, sit it into the Unimog and it will look like a baby, place it on the excavator and it will look too big, on the Crawler it wont even fit I suppose.

And these are all flagships, so I'm comparing in the same class.

This kinda bothers me

the scale of the cars is only secondary for me. Primary no fun is the scale of the tires caompared to the scale of the vehicle

Well, they have to keep the scale within reason, if the 8043 was the same scale as say the 8070 Supercar, the excavator would be huge and way out of most people's price range... Plus it would be near impossible to have $20(or less) sets if everything was the same scale...

It would also be hard to properly scale, detail, and add functions to a set like the 8051 motorcycle if you were to make it the proper scale compared to say the 8070 It should actually only be much smaller when comparing it, or the 8070 would have to be much larger compare the other way...

Most toys are like this, for example if you collect Hot Wheels or Matchbox, almost all of the carded vehicles are the same size, whether they are cars, trucks, planes, buses, or Military vehicles...

Yes, yes it does :hmpf_bad: . I have many different sized models and for some reason, the motorcycle is bigger than my trucks. Also, it would be to expensive to have all the models scaled similarly. If everything was the same scale as 8051, than no one would by them (as it would be too expensive) .

Variations of Technic sets scale do not bother me. They're toys afterall. Scale was more important when I was doing HO scale model railroading. :classic:

Scale doesn't bother me. Obviously I like flagships to be huge, flagship super/hyper cars should be at least 1:8. But to make an 1:8 mobile crane would be crazy.

Just the way it has to be, I have several lined up on shelves and it does look odd if you look at them as if there were meant to be the same, but they are not and the differing sizes works just fine, imo

i've always taken the different scales as a given. there seem to be three basic scales every season: mini, model team and large (i view the smaller mini-scale sets as dressed-up supplementals).

Good grief, don't get me started on Lego scale. It does not bother me all that much, but it is still worth discussing, but you'll want to look at the The scale thread.

To reiterate, I personally don't think about it to hard, as it's all over the place, and always will be.

So, just relax, it's only a toy, after all.
