TheDarkness Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Hi guys, seeing if anyone can help. I purchased a few 10218 sets, however the number of pieces listed says 1332 on the box. I haven't been able to find any info, but was there a batch of misprinted boxes come out? I am assuming all the pieces are in there and it is just an error? Cheers Quote
Ferrik Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 I think that it is probably an error. You can open one of the sets to see if all the bags are there and if they're not you can get an exchange. Quote
kaykay Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 (edited) Here is a reply I got from TLG, since I had a couple of misprinted 10218 "Thanks for getting in touch with us regarding the contents of your editions of LEGO set 10218 Pet Shop. I can confirm that the piece count for this set is 2032 as you rightly say. There has been a limited production run with a printing error that gives the incorrect number of pieces on the box. We are aware of this and this error has been rectified. Consequently, you're in receipt of four rare copies of set 10218 with this printing error. Who knows; in years to come, maybe this rarity will make them more valuable!" So keep them I guess? Edited July 24, 2012 by kaykay Quote

Cool, did you get them in Australia or overseas? I got them overseas. We don't get the piece count usually on our boxes in Australia :) Quote
AussieJimbo Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 (edited) This Bircklink seller received a batch and has them listed at a 43% premium over those without the printing error. http://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=byGeorge&itemID=34522268 Mine, purchased from DJs, shows the correct piece count. :classic: Edited July 24, 2012 by AussieJimbo Quote

TheDarkness Posted July 24, 2012 Author Posted July 24, 2012 is it possible to show a picture of the box? The only difference is the no. of pieces. It is the same amount as the Volkswagen so I am assuming that is where the error came from Quote
escortmad79 Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 (edited) Mine (Purchased from Lego.co.uk) a month ago also has the incorrect 1332 piece count on it Edited July 24, 2012 by escortmad79 Quote

Than when they produced another run they accidentally grabbed some of these misprinted boxes....... Quote
