JimBee Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 Hybros attacks the Rogue twice from the back row, once with his new Throwing Cog, and again with his Bladerang. "I will heal you next round, Guts." OOC: You forgot to update my gold, Zeph. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 Guts uses a nostrum. "Alright, Hybros, get as many attacks off as you can, an assassination will turn the tide quickly!" Same battle order. Quote

Docken fires another deft shot as Hybros and the Rogue exchange blows and gold. The bladerang flies off and slams into the Knight and Ranger as Guts downs his nostrum. The curse takes it's toll, but Hybros is too weakened to notice it. I believe since the Rogue was the only one targeted when Lethal Aim was rolled, he should be the only one considered for assassination, even though they all take damage, right? Or do you think since the bladerang hits them all, they should all be considered for assassination? Edited August 5, 2012 by Zepher Quote
JimBee Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 OOC: Of course I'm biased but I also think, logically, that assassination should be rolled for all enemies, because it technically hits all of them. That's the way I assumed it worked, anyway. Hybros took a turn to retrieve his Bladerang, and another to pour a Grand Potion down Guts' throat. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 If I use a remedy(or elixir) on Hybros, will his cursed effect go away? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 If I use a remedy(or elixir) on Hybros, will his cursed effect go away? OoC: It shouldn't; it's a permanent effect granted by an equipped itemSame attack. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 OoC: It shouldn't; it's a permanent effect granted by an equipped item Same attack. What if I pour it onto his armour? "Hybros, don't try to heal me, we can't afford to take two free hits, I'll heal you, if you attack again. That will give us a better chance of defeating one of them." Quote
Brickdoctor Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 OoC: If I take a Smelling Salts and Scuba lists me twice at the top of the Order, can I take both Free Hits? Quote
JimBee Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 OOC: Hold on guys, let's just see if I can/have assassinated anything with the Bladerang. Depending on what happens, Guts can heal Hybros with a potion so that he can take two hits from the back row if needed. I would retrieve and throw the Bladerang in the same round, only leaving the Knight for a free hit. And sorry for the OOC, Jeb would be mad if he's reading this quest... Quote
Scubacarrot Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 "It's okay guys, I have a plan, I totally just thought this up by myself right now. Docken, drink your smelling salts, and attack, Hybros, retrieve your weapon and attack the rogue again. I will heal you." Guts heals Hybros with a grand potion. Battle order: Docken (x2) Guts Hybros (x2) Quote
Brickdoctor Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 "If I can take both Free Hits, Master Hybros doesn't need to attack; you two can heal each other. Also, as Master Hybros says, we should wait to see if he was able to Assassinate the other enemies." Quote
JimBee Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 Hybros retrieves and throws his Banana Bladerang at the Rogue from the back row. Quote

That's the way I assumed it worked, anyway. I think I'm going to stick the way I did it... though I agree that's a more foggy area. It claims it does damage to all enemies, but the description of lethal aim says "the rogue has a 1/6 chance to assassinate the target". If I use a remedy(or elixir) on Hybros, will his cursed effect go away? Nope, sorry. OoC: If I take a Smelling Salts and Scuba lists me twice at the top of the Order, can I take both Free Hits? Yes, that would work. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 "Right, so I'll consume my Smelling Salts and I'll also switch targets and attack the Knight instead, so that you two don't take Damage if I roll Special Damage. "Master Hybros, you should retrieve your bladerang and consume a Grand Potion." Quote
JimBee Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 OOC: Okay, that makes sense. Recalling another damage-all item of Sandy's, the Cat O'Nine Tails from Quest 34, I think she nerfed it so that the rogue using it couldn't mug all enemies it hit. Listening to his allies, Hybros decided to grab his Bladerang, but consume a Grand Potion instead of throwing it. He did so from the back row. Quote

Docken, you should target the Ranger once, and avoid the risk of receiving damage or special damage and take the free hits instead, eheh." OOC: Even if I roll a successful assassination, I wouldn't be able to perform it, right? I know I wouldn't be able to deal any damage, but is a OHKO considered damage? If not, then I'll attack the Rogue twice from the back row with Zoot's Reaper. Quote

As with a regular Knight's Sentinel, damage will not be calculated, but all effects will. I'd count the assassination as an effect. Quote
