Brickdoctor Posted July 27, 2012 Posted July 27, 2012 "Yes, we might as well get that while we're at it. After that, we can target the Green Cog twice and the Orange Cog once to make the clock stay where it is and get that second weapons upgrade." I attack the Dark Grey Clock Cog from the Back Row with my Briar Bow. Quote
JimBee Posted July 27, 2012 Posted July 27, 2012 Hybros brandished Zoot's Reaper. It was due for another upgrade, so he attacked the Orange Cog from the front row. Quote

Docken tries to fire a shot at the cog, which twists out of the way, but is too afraid to approach Docken. Guts is smashed backwards by the Dark Gray Cog, and the Light Gray Cog comes at him from behind and shreds his robes, bloodying his back. The clocks hands twirl and then ding with excitement. JimBee Posted July 27, 2012 Posted July 27, 2012 Hybros attacked the Orange Cog again, from the front row. He noticed that Docken had retrieved his bedroll somehow, as if he had just wished it there. If that was possible, and if this were a dream... hmm... Quote

Orange Cog - Hit (31) (Assassination) Dark Gray Cog v. Docken - Scared Light Gray Cog v. Guts - (-3) The battle continues. Docken fires a measly shot at the Green Cog, which shatters the arrow when it hits it. Guts cannot get close to the Green Cog, but finds two gold in his pocket all the same!! Hybros lands on the spinning Orange cog and rams Zoot's Reaper into it. Living up to it's name, the weapon lodges deeply in the cog, and the cog stops spinning and plummets to the ground. Hybros dives off and rolls at the last possible moment as the Light Gray Cog whacks Guts on the back of the head, forcing his face into the floor. The clock chimes once and all the cogs stop spinning for a split second (-10). This was not what the heroes had predicted. What had gone wrong? JimBee Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 Hybros ripped his scythe from the cog as it exploded. 'A leaf from the book of the Copper Fox', he noted with approval. Time was speeding up, back to normal. Perhaps Hybros had become more immersed in the dream, less connected to his body in the real world. His mind, so sluggish a few moments ago, caught up with him. He pondered the reason for the delay, but turned his attention to the battle. Why had the clock turned back to one? "Eh... I think that when removed from the system of cogs, a cog destroyed will take back the number of hours that we hit it with. The orange cog turned the clock ahead one hour for each time we targeted it, and we did so four times, eheh... now, the time should have been five, but since I destroyed it, the clock took back four hours. I am afraid that my... abilities will add a factor of unpredictability if I am right." He turned to Guts. "How would you have me proceed? Eheh..." Quote
Scubacarrot Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 "Hmmm, I guess you must be right. Hybros, go for the green cog with me, Docken, take the Dark gray cog. This should cause the cogs to take some damage, and we might be able to pick up the Weapon Upgrade after." Guts attacks the Green Cog from the front row. Same battle order. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 "Are you sure? Two targeting Green and one targeting Dark Grey should move the clock an hour forwards to 2 o'clock, which deals Damage to all of us. Would it not be better to find out what the Light Grey Cog does?" Quote
