Zepher Posted July 25, 2012 Author Posted July 25, 2012 BD, we need you to declare how much gold, if any, you'll be giving Guffington. Quote
Zepher Posted July 26, 2012 Author Posted July 26, 2012 (edited) "Awesome, thanks!" Guffington accepts the gold and then turns and walks through the wall of the clock tower. Suddenly, there is a whirring sound, and through the mist come four giant clock cogs. A note flutters back through the wall where Guffington passed through. -The clock will automatically move forward one hour every round.-Targetting the Cogs turns the clock. -Depending on the hour that the clock is on at the end of the round, a different event will occur. JimBee Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 What the hell? "It seems we have no choice. I will attack the Orange Cog from the front row with Zoot's Reaper. I think we should focus on two or three of the cogs, we can absorb the free hits if needed." OoC: So, the clock advances one hour at the end of each round, and also when a cog is targeted? I'm guessing we won't be told what the time is? Quote
Zepher Posted July 26, 2012 Author Posted July 26, 2012 OoC: So, the clock advances one hour at the end of each round, and also when a cog is targeted? I'm guessing we won't be told what the time is? Sorry, totally forgot, you should certainly be told what time it is, or else the puzzle is impossible. It is 12. That you DON'T know is how each cog changes the clock. Some advance it X number of hours when targeted, some move it back X number of hours when targeted. Those numbers will all be added together at the end of the round. EX: Blue Cog moves clock forward 5 hours, Red Cog moves it back 2, clock advances 1 no matter what, and the clock starts at twelve: 5-2+1=4. The time would then be 4 o'clock. Quote
JimBee Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 OOC: Gotcha, thanks. "Actually, everyone target the Orange Cog for now. If we can split them up, we can more easily determine how much each changes the time, eheh..." Quote
Brickdoctor Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 "Actually, everyone target the Orange Cog for now. If we can split them up, we can more easily determine how much each changes the time, eheh..." "My thoughts exactly."Confident in my invulnerability, at least against the Cogs, I attack the Orange Clock Cog from the Back Row with my Briar Bow. "Actually, since my Dread Hat protects me from everything other than the effects of the tower, do you think it would be a good idea to take this opportunity to spend some Health and get some more consumables from the real world?" OoC: I took a Grand Potion as my fifth item, and I'm not Immune to Enamored since I left the Lover's Locket behind. Quote

Scubacarrot Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 Half in doubt, Guts said: "So attacking the orange cog causes the clock to jump forward one hour... It may be best if we all target another cog, now, just to find out what every one does, and THEN we can think about causing the clock to jump to the times we want." Guts attacks the Green Cog from the front row with Lifestealer. Same battle order. Quote

Brickdoctor Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 OoC: Also, 4 o'clock is supposed to raise the Levels of the Cogs by one, and they're still the same. Brickdoctor Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 "I think now would be a good time for Docken to get some more items in here." "Do you think I should bring in a Potion, a Mead, or my Bedroll? Venom's effect is too small to be worthwhile, Smoke Bombs aren't necessary since you and Master Holla can Flee, and my longbow, locket, and marksman's hat are more specialized items. I was leaning towards the Bedroll, since we don't have a healer." Quote
