I play/have:

The original Shogun

The orginal Medieval

Rome, with Alexander and Barbarian expansions

Medieval 2

My favourite is Rome. Unfortunately my computer can't really do justice to anything Medieval 2 and newer. Plus, I find those games a bit too heavy. Rome is probably my favourite game of all time, bar nothing :)

Excellent! People here play!

I have in order of favorites:

Medieval 2 Gold

Rome

Shogun 2

Napoleon

Empire

What I like to do is visit modding communities of the internet, such as TWC and try out the modifications that improve the AI and the campaign or even mods that let you conquer the world!

My computer can just play shogun 2, just. The gameplay is hideous and very laggy and is almost unplayable.

I love Rome! It is such a classic and is fairly lighthearted. I agree that the games are a little heavy, but Rome is just pure fun!

Same with empire. It's lag is the worst.

Rome is pretty fun. I remember as House of Julius I beat the short campaign in only 15 years. :look::laugh:

Should get some online matches going on! :cannon:

My thoughts eactly, I love going on to the Rome Multi-player, something about controlling urban cohorts or rampaging elephants whilst destroying an opponent is very good fun!

Serious though, that would be fun!

I just disliked Empire, something about the game's boring battles and laggy ness puts me right off. I like playing as Brutii and building an empire to prepare to start a good old Roman cicil war!

I play Rome with the Barbarian Invasion and Alexander add-ons. Unfortunately, my internet connection will never support online gaming. Way too slow for that...way to slow.

I crushed the whole world in Rome in I don't know how many years, but it wasn't long, just a lot of huge battles at the end. I have to say it got kind of boring though. As the house of Julii I forgot about using foot soldiers apart from the archers and pretty much just used cheap horsemen. They were highly effective though and they're fairly cheap as well.

I love PArthias units. I own with them online

In rome, there is a fair bit of genericness, each unit is dressed the same, the same face and the same horse. Doesnt detract from game play though.

Well, if you think about it, the PArthians live in the middle of no where! I think it would definatly to be hard raising money!

thankfuly, my internet connection is pretty good and I can play some online games. However, I played a online game on Shogun, and lets just say I could'nt tell trees from troops.... :look: I lost!

When you're playing online, does pausing the game work? If so, how? I always wondered this, for some reason.

Pausing only works when you press pause and so does everyone else. IT will come up on the top of the screen, saying you have pressed pause. If other people agree and press pause soon after, the game will be paused, same goes to speeding up the game.

Oh yes, the new Rome! My dreams come true!

Ah, I understand now. How many players can you have playing at once? Can you play campaigns online? I suppose so, but that must take an eternity.

in a battle? 7 other players. I think hotseat campaigns are in some modifications, but I am not totaly sure if you can. I suppose you can though.

Wow! 7 players in a battle. I guess it's not just two teams and their allies fighting against each other then, but everyone can fight each other.

Sounds messy already.

Wish I had a better internet connection. :cry_sad:

Believe me, once the slaughter gets going, there's no stop
