JimBee Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 Hey all. I was just playing around with some parts when I realized a good use for those Geonosian wings. I had my post-apoc soldier laying around for some time, and I just decided to add some wings and a flag to recreate the art of my favorite album (Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory). It's almost purist, I just used a bit of clay to stick two stack 1x1 round plates to the head for a gas mask. Here's what I got after playing around with some picture settings, to make it more similar to the actual cover art. And the reference image: And the soldier with dragonfly wings actually represents the band's music in a way. From Wikipedia: According to Chester Bennington, the idea of the soldier with dragonfly wings was to describe the blending of hard and soft musical elements by the use of the jaded looks of the soldier and frail touches of the wings. Hope you enjoyed! Quote
Aether Fox Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Excellent job making the figure from the album cover, the parts you chose work perfectly! I agree, that album is one of Linkin Park's best! Quote
Masked Builder Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 Very nice JimB. You've managed to capture the image quite well, the aged effect is really cool. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 EPIC custom work JimB! (From one big Linkin Park fan to another ) You've brought the album cover into minifig form perfectly. Quote
purpleparadox Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 Cool idea! It seems accurate, and awesome. Inspiring, too. Now I want to recreate some album covers with Lego! Quote
JimBee Posted July 28, 2012 Author Posted July 28, 2012 Thanks everyone. @purpleparadox: I'm pretty sure Dark Side of the Moon has been done once or twice. Quote
